Keeping up the spirit etc is fine.Chin up too is fine.But labelling the defeated as champions is sheer delusion and denial."Missed the medal"?You must be joking.They weren't anywhere near it. I followed both these matches.I am personally a big fan of Shreeja.But leading 10-6 and 10-5 in first two games against a seeded player and not getting one final point....that's not champion stuff.Its lack of killer instinct.When you get someone down you need to ensure the opponent does not get up.Till you are done. But its only here that defeats are celebrated .It fosters a culture of second bests and also rans and creates toxic positivity.All this fawning and mollycoddling which is going on creates a preening and sissy culture.A culture where servitude and defeats are par for the course. Heroes are like Major Dhyanchand . In Holland, the authorities broke his hockey stick to check if there was a magnet inside. On one occasion, a lady from the audience asked Dhyan Chand to play with her walking stick instead. He scored goals even with them. Defeating Germany in front of Adolf Hitler in Olympic hockey finals in Germany...that is champion to me.Refusing Colonel' s post offered by a mesmerised Hitler is TRUE patriotism ...these are our heroes...in sports and in life. "First is first.Second is nowhere." See countries like Japan.Excellence and winning in sports is ingrained in their personality ....they don't award second bests.There is no drama and ha ha ha in their victories.It comes as a way of life.We need to learn attitude and discipline from them. Ruthless and relentless pursuit of the objective...be it any walk of life ...is their hallmark.You dont WIN silver.You LOSE gold.We just use their words like kaizen and ikigai as punch lines.Little ingraining in our personalities. We need constancy of purpose .Even Hong Kong ,has 2 gold medals up till now.Its not even size of a major state of our country. We need to develop a culture of excellence as a matter of habit ,not as a one off thing.And off the drama please.Its sickening. And yes. There are no medals for playing well.

Scraping the Barrel for Likes: The Downside of Social Media Addiction In our hyper-connected world, the quest for likes and social validation can often lead us down unexpected paths. Recently, I came across a post from a well-known figure with thousands of followers who traditionally shared content about the economy and politics. This time, however, they posted about a boxing fight—an unexpected and, frankly, inappropriate topic for LinkedIn. This shift highlights a significant psychological aspect of social media: the addiction to likes and the constant need for approval. When content creators feel the pressure to maintain engagement, they may end up scraping the barrel, posting anything to stay relevant, even if it deviates from their usual niche or the platform's professional standards. Boxing, a sport often perceived as lowbrow and violent, seemed an odd choice for a platform like LinkedIn, which is designed for professional networking and thought leadership. This attempt to stay in the limelight by any means necessary comes off as desperate and undermines the credibility they once had. It’s almost like watching someone who thinks they’re the next Elon Musk, but ends up looking rather pathetic. This behavior underscores a critical point in my ongoing series on social media psychology: the lengths to which individuals will go to seek social approval. As content creators, we must be mindful of the quality and appropriateness of our posts. Straying too far from our core message or the platform’s purpose can not only alienate our audience but also dilute our brand. With the rise of medals in international competitions , for the Indian athletes . The next wave of athletes and sports to be developed in the industry are now going to be The Para Athlete sectors . Even with the current training models in place the Indian Para Olympic teams are predicted to perform really well and bring home medals . It's time to create more researched based databases specific to Indian Para Athletes for a long Term Goal of Dominating at International Competitions. And Help further generations to do R&D with those databases to make the performance even more spectacular to watch . #sportsscience #paraathletes
