Snippet of a recent conversation with someone hiring Grads: Client: We only want people with a 1st from a top 10 Uni Me: Wouldn't consider anyone else? Client: NO. Me: Cool. Did you get a 1st from a top 10 Uni? Client: No, but that’s not important. Me: And what do you plan on paying this grad? Client: £24k + generous benefits. Me: Bye. It was a very short call. #graduatehiring #gradhiring #gradsalaries #costofliving

Students and graduates, this is for you. Don’t wait until the final deadline to apply for graduate programmes. Companies start interviewing as soon as they receive applications, so getting your application in early can give you a crucial advantage. In fact, I’ve often filled my classes before the cut-off date, and criteria can become more stringent as spots fill up. Apply early to maximize your chances! #graduaterecruitment #applications #be1st

Excited to share an interesting conversation with a manager who is hiring students for the 2024 Summer. This is a manager who values a dynamic attitude and hard work over grades! He truly believes that everybody can have ups and downs and that sometimes, life happens. The true strength is how resilient the person is to keep pushing forward. 💪 Now that recruitment for the Summer is starting, I have some bits of advice for students : 1. Keep track of your applications, this way you will know which companies might call you and which positions you applied for. 2. Sometimes the recruitment process will start with a phone call. Don't underestimate it! Remember projecting your qualities is crucial in these conversations and smile, actually smile-it truly makes a difference. If you can, try to find a quiet spot to have this conversation. 3. Be genuine, let your true self shine throughout the process, because you are simply amazing! ✨ #careeradvice #interviewtips #coop #studentsuccess

You can't get experience without experience....... We are approaching grad season when a huge amount of new and emerging talent is about to flood the market. As a hiring manager, this is your reminder to refrain from giving pants feedback and asking graduates to have ten years of experience at the age of 22. Good Feedback looks like this; We couldn't see in your interview that you had done any research about the company or the role. To correct this in the future, you need to answer a company's questions demonstrating that you've done your homework and weave this into your responses. "We felt you needed more confidence, and given that we have some challenging customers, we are concerned this impacts your ability to fulfill the role. In the future, please remember that you are capable of anything you put your mind to" Pants feedback is normally, "They haven't got any experience," or "someone more experienced came along." No 💩 sherlock. You knew they had no experience before you interviewed them, so why waste their time? Please don't knock their confidence before they start and ask them to be something they are not. Constructive criticism that is delivered kindly helps people grow. Give a grad a go!
