Across the U.S. there are hundreds of bridges in poor condition, and while the bipartisan infrastructure law represents a once-in-a-generation investment into our nation’s infrastructure, it alone can’t cover what’s needed to address our aging infrastructure. Recent increases in state and federal transportation funding have allowed Ohio to make needed improvements to the condition, safety and efficiency of the state’s roads and bridges. This is worth reading. A measure to reconnect communities displaced and destroyed by the building of highways and other transport infrastructure. For fellow New Yorkers (the city): It includes $150 million to reconnect communities divided by the Cross Bronx Expressway between the Harlem River and the Hutchinson River Parkway.

A new study by HIP Investor Inc., and Corvias Infrastructure Solutions, LLC (CIS) examines the effectiveness of “Green Job Creation” within our nation’s largest green stormwater infrastructure programs. The programs studied here-in include those led by Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District in #Wisconsin, Prince George's County, Maryland, Buffalo Sewer Authority in #NewYork, and Philadelphia Water Department in #Pennsylvania. Because each of the programs has already had extensive successes in their regions, they can serve as models for adopting best practices. Here is an awesome idea for Justin Trudeau. He should increase the carbon tax on April 1. He should continue to charge tax on the tax (GST). Then, instead of using our money to do things that we want, like, oh, I dunno - build roads, he should use our money to fly around the world on a private jet. Shall we put that to a vote? We welcome the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves’ commitment to planning reform in her speech today. Reform of the National Planning Policy Framework is something we’ve long campaigned for and will help developers get on with building the new safe and secure lorry parks and truckstops drivers deserve. We’re encouraged that the emphasis on planning appeals escalated to government including critical infrastructure projects will take a regional overview rather than just a local view. Funding for 300 additional planning officers in local authorities should help clear some of the backlog of highways improvements and green infrastructure projects to improve journey times and make roads more efficient.
