How can you help create community? A community thrives when they are dedicated. Desiring to become a community were people from the early church, as they "devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching...fellowship...sharing in meals, and...prayer" (Acts 2:42). When you have people with similar mindsets they become "one in heart and mind" (4:32). So, if you yearn for togetherness, might you find such a community and help grow it. #GetInvolved #ANWadvocatingforhealthyliveshomesandworkenvironments

Senior Generosity Strategist...Generis, Where More than $17 Billion Has Been Raised for Worthy Causes Worldwide
I agree wholeheartedly with your perspective, #AlanWildes. #Fear and #obligation have been twin sisters in motivating #generosity in the context of #churchfundraising within which I do most of my consultation. Fortunately, with the slow realization among #churchleaders that using hell as a means of scaring people into acceptable religious behavior patterns or using "obligations" - as if God is going to punish you if you ever miss a weekly worship service - to motivate people to fill a pew or to give generously have proven to be bankrupt motivators. Oh, you can use these methods to seek to control the right actions, and many #churches, #churchleaders, #pastors, and #christiandenominations do. However, the outcomes never produce enduring results or meaningful lifestyle changes. I share Carey N.'s perspective. There are many ways people are engaged. That's where church leaders should begin to nurture #spiritualgrowth and involvement. I enjoy serving with you, Alan, on the #GenerisTeam. Take a look at Alan's important words here.
Engagement in churches has changed since 2020. Has the lack of engagement impacted giving in your church? Here are my thoughts. https://lnkd.in/ezZtj-Z6 #communityintersect
