The C.D. Howe Institute released Scenarios for Seniors’ Care. It’s a 32-page report on the challenges and gaps in senior care, and strategies to address them. One of the primary takeaways is that more robust home & community care can help free up capacity in hospitals and long-term care, and save tax payers money. Tell us more. So many "relationships" have existed over time where benefits are known only to those who sign dotted lines. I cannot wait to see understandings morph into happenings that help. Jamaica has been the home of one of the Worlds best universities. The University of the West Indies' knowledge of Jamaica and the Caribbean's publlic health needs may be equalled and assisted but not surpassed. The Jamaican population has been studied for decades. Records of methods and books are there. Let us hope that this is just not another trial where massa gains information and self promotion while the faceless, nameless go deeper into the healthcare desert. Btw, have you been able to compare Jamaica's response to the Covid 19 pandemic with that of the USA? Jamaica's public health forces may have a thing or two to offer to anyone capable of learning.
The Jamaican Prime Minister came to Hartford to celebrate a partnership between the Caribbean island country and Hartford HealthCare while also giving a nod to the city's robust Jamaican community! 🇯🇲 Prime Minister Andrew Holness arrived in Hartford one year after Jamaica and Hartford HealthCare signed a memorandum of understanding providing Jamaica with medical supplies and training equipment for future healthcare providers. But he also highlighted how the joint venture helps Hartford. "The partnership will allow significant data sharing and data gathering," Holness said. "That brings me of course, to the fact that we have 50,000, although I suspect it is more, but 50,000 Jamaicans living in Connecticut. It would be good to understand the health profile in Jamaica because who could tell what it could reveal about health care strategy and public health responses." Give us a 👏 for Prime Minister Andrew Holness!

Today is #nationalvoterregistrationday! The medically underserved are among the least likely to vote, and clinicians can and should play a crucial role in empowering patient civic engagement. Learn more at Vot-ER, and explore ACU's resources on this important topic: https://bit.ly/3QKW8Ed
🗳️ Did you know that 1 in 4 eligible voters in our nation is not registered to vote? That's a staggering number! But here's the good news: healthcare providers are uniquely empowered to close that gap and create healthier communities and a healthier democracy. 🏥 Healthcare is all about caring for people, and that extends beyond medical treatment. It means advocating for the well-being of our communities at every level. Registering to vote and encouraging others to do the same is one powerful way we can make a difference. 💪 When healthcare providers take the initiative to promote voter registration, we're not just improving healthcare policies; we're strengthening the very foundation of our democracy. Let's use our influence to ensure that everyone's voice is heard. 🗳️ Together, we can bridge the gap in voter registration and build a more vibrant, participatory democracy. It starts with us. Register, encourage others to register, and let's create a healthier future for all.
