Getting a complete view of primary care quality is challenging. Until now, a view of health outcomes performance at the granular level of the primary care practice has not existed in California. That's why in January 2022, four large healthcare purchasers joined together with IHA, Purchaser Business Group on Health (PBGH)'s California Quality Collaborative (CQC), and participating health plans for the Advanced Primary Care Measurement Pilot. Director of Policy & Regulatory Affairs at Novant Health | Passionate Policy Wonk | Solutions-driven Healthcare Advocate
Today, I am proud to share a project that is near and dear to my heart. My entire life I have witnessed my father - a cardiac electrophysiologist - dedicate countless hours and immeasurable energy to caring for patients and their families. Still today, his daily experiences at the bedside shape how I view public policies in healthcare and drive me to find solutions that make the jobs of clinicians just a little bit easier. As we launch the Novant Health Center for Public Policy Solutions, my hope is that we can elevate the voices of doctors like my dad and other clinicians who care enough to make caring for others their career. Our first white paper shines a light on what some may say is a small change - however, it would make a big difference to the Novant Health clinicians who lent their time and expertise to design this solution, as well as the countless other clinicians and patients who have to navigate such challenges each and every day. #healthcare #publicpolicy #wellness #primarycare #novanthealth #peoplefocused #solutionsdriven
At Novant Health, we create a healthier future and bring remarkable experiences to life. That includes our work to improve public policies that impact our clinicians, patients and communities. Today, we are excited to announce the Novant Health Center for Public Policy Solutions. Through the collective expertise of our clinicians and public policy experts, we are standing up to create actionable healthcare policy solutions focused on improving care for our patients and relieving burdens on our team members. I have seen a preview of this. It demonstrates that whether hospitals are are big or small, well resourced or resource constrained, quality care begins with strong teamwork. This presentation is worth attending.
