This is a very good step FORWARD by the European Commission to a more HUMAN centered #mobility!! European Cyclists' Federation
BUT as everywhere, conservatives act against a human-centered #cityplanning -which is acting FOR the benefit of people on feet or #bicycles- and in contrast conservatives promote a #car-addicted flash-back into the 50s.
Currently very sadly 😞😡occurring in #Berlin by CDU Berlin under support of a more and more non-visionary SPD Berlin (their both only reason to do so is, that most of their voters are elderly, conservative, non-future-interested wellbeing people).
Every of their steps back into an anachronistic politic, against ALL scientific evidence 🫣(please refer to Marco Te Brömmelstroet or Dutch Cycling Embassy; 3 paper links below) will foster #climatechange and will logarithmically (!!) maximise the efforts needed to act against the consequences of such an inconsequence 🤯

The European Commission's Declaration on Cycling is one of the most ambitious initiatives aimed at recognising cycling as a sustainable, accessible and affordable mode of transportation, offering significant benefits to the EU economy. 📈
After its adoption, the Eltis - EU Urban Mobility Observatory team spoke with key stakeholders in the cycling industry to hear their views on the Declaration and the impacts it will have on increasing cycling across the EU. This included CIE Policy Director, Lauha Marianne Fried, who highlighted the declaration's significance as an EU anchor ⚓, for cycling policies enacted at all levels, whether European, national, regional or local, making it increasingly difficult to backtrack on cycling policies! 🚴♂️
Read the article on the importance of the declaration from the perspectives of the European Cyclists' Federation, POLIS Network and Eurocities below:
