The flexibility of Capstone Green Energy microturbines has helped us build value across the food supply chain since we began in 2014. As the food market becomes more competitive and complex, businesses must protect their margins with strategic energy investments. Vergent's customers understood the urgent need to control their energy: Rising utility rates, lack of infrastructure and unpredictable weather patterns continue, so they took back control, generating power and using it more efficiently than ever before. There's never been a better time to invest in onsite generation. In 2024, the Investment Tax Credit and utility incentive programs offer financial benefits that improve the payback of CHP 💰 There’s still time to qualify, even if you start now. Capstone Green Energy microturbines have one of the shortest equipment lead times in the generation business, helping you meet the safe harbor deadline. Interested in learning more? How is the Advanced Manufacturing and Recycling grant program helping to strengthen domestic clean energy manufacturing? With $425 million available in funding, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and DOE Manufacturing & Energy Supply Chains Office (MESC) continues to advance clean energy manufacturing and industrial decarbonization in former coal communities essential to the U.S. #energy supply chain. The #CleanEnergy Manufacturing and Recycling #grant is helping small, and medium-sized #manufacturers establish new, re-equip, or expand existing #manufacturing or recycling facility for the production or recycling of advanced energy property or make improvements to facilities to substantially reduce their #ghg emissions. Concepts papers due April 22, 2024. Learn how you can apply for this investment that supports the growth of the U.S. industrial base and strengthening of our domestic #supplychains: https://lnkd.in/gd49Tvve. This week, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released Round 2 of the Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Credit (48C) Program. Round 2 of this program will provide up to $6 billion in tax credits of up to 30% of qualified investment for projects that expand clean energy manufacturing and recycling and critical materials refining, processing and recycling, and for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions at industrial facilities. Alternative protein companies that install/retrofit equipment at manufacturing facilities that reduce facility greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20% may qualify for the tax credits in the Industrial Decarbonization Projects category. Climate Tech Leader I SVP @ Boundary Stone Partners I Former Director, Water Power Technologies Office at DOE I Government Funding & Innovation Program Development Expert
Huge announcement for funding for advancing clean energy technologies and decarbonization! Today, the U.S. Department of Treasury and U.S. Department of Energy released critical guidance on the next round of the 48C tax credit allocation program to the tune of $6 billion. There are three main areas that are allowed under this round of 48C: ⚡ Clean Energy Manufacturing and Recycling Projects - includes projects that re-equip, expand, or establish industrial or manufacturing facilities for the production or recycling of specified advanced energy properties; 🏭 Industrial Decarbonization Projects - includes projects that re-equip or retrofit industrial or manufacturing facilities, including energy-intensive manufacturing sectors, such as cement, iron and steel, aluminum, chemicals, and other sectors, with equipment designed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 20%; and 🔋 Critical Material Projects - includes the re-equipment, expansion, or establishment of an industrial facility for the processing, refining, or recycling of critical materials. This is an incredibly unique program that allows for both tax credits directly for manufacturers to expand their facilities and invest in solutions to decarbonize industrial facilities. While the Round 1 application process was extremely competitive, Boundary Stone worked with partners across the cleantech and climate landscape to help navigate applying to and successfully receiving funds through 48C. Just some stats on how having BSP support your application: ➡ BSP clients were 6X more likely to be selected. ➡ BSP clients represent $370 million - or nearly 10% - of total allocations. ➡ BSP supported successful applications across all three topic areas, spanning from first-of-a-kind manufacturing facilities to retrofit projects at existing industrial facilities. Reach out directly to me or BSP ([email protected]) to get started and to learn how we can help. To achieve net-zero by 2050, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) estimates that the U.S. needs to capture and store 400 to 1,800 million tonnes of CO2 annually. At GTI Energy, we are proud to contribute our carbon management expertise to advance and scale carbon capture technology. Through a new DOE-funded project to demonstrate the modular and scalable ROTA-CAP ™ integrated industrial carbon capture system at United States Steel Corporation’s Edgar Thomson industrial iron and steel production facility in Braddock, Pennsylvania, our teams are paving the way for broader adoption of carbon capture technology and decarbonization of global economies. A #sustainable approach to addressing #climatechange and our #energyfuture requires a diverse portfolio of solutions, not just reliance on a select few technologies. And the right policy frameworks to create investment certainty are critical in supporting innovation to drive the transition to a #lowcarbon future. Further development of the #renewablenaturalgas (#RNG) industry offers significant potential for capture and beneficial use of #biogas, with environmental, health and economic benefits across the United States. Pioneering decarbonization development isn’t new for EDL. Having entered the US in 1997, EDL has grown significantly and invested more than US$750m to merge two mature landfill gas to electricity businesses with our existing business; and develop a portfolio of RNG plants, including the Wood Road facility (pictured) near Lansing, Michigan, that will celebrate two years of operations next month. EDL has capacity to produce up to 7 million mmBtu per year of RNG from facilities in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Texas, which is used to decarbonize the transport sector and industry - displacing fossil derived natural gas in the natural gas distribution network and helping to decarbonize hard to abate industrial processes. According to the Coalition for Renewable Natural Gas, there are now 300 RNG facilities operating in North America, with another 176 under construction and another 313 more being planned. But with another 43,000 waste sites identified across the US that could be fitted with methane capturing RNG infrastructure over coming decades, the potential to do more is enormous. We look forward to helping to realize that potential. #renewableenergy #RNG #biogas
