SIA is pleased to announce the release of our VMS Global Landscape & Differentiators 2023 report. This report examines the global landscape of the vendor management system (VMS) market and includes information on 18 providers. We identify the benefits of VMS adoption and summarise key innovations and investments. As reported in SIA’s Workforce Buyer Survey, global adoption of Vendor Management Systems (VMS) by companies with more 1,000 employees has grown from just over 50% in 2009 to 79% in 2023. Within this period, VMS solutions have evolved from a system of record, primarily supporting processes where contingent workers are sourced through staffing agencies (vendors), to supporting workers sourced through services contracts (Statement of Work and Outsourced services) to, more recently, supporting the direct sourcing of contingent workers though company specific attraction programs. The evolution of VMS has been driven by a number of factors including: ✔ Better informed buyers looking to deliver increasing strategic value to their internal stakeholders ✔ HR’s growing interest in the strategic value of the contingent workforce ✔The availability of evolving technology solutions to improve both efficiency and access to talent ✔ And, with continuing skills shortages, the need to drive program adoption by offering a positive experience at scale for staffing suppliers and contingent workers.
