🚀 Remember Circuit City? During my time at Verizon in the Indirect Channel, I had the opportunity to support their account. Founded in 1949, Circuit City was a Fortune 500 company for 20 years. However, despite becoming a leader and pioneer in the consumer electronics industry in the 1970s and 1980s they ultimately faced demise. 👉 Circuit City reached its peak in the 1990s, surpassing its rival Best Buy. However, one major mistake led to its downfall: a failure to adapt and innovate to changing consumer preferences and shopping behaviors. The company was slow to embrace online retail and did not invest enough in innovation and differentiation, relying too heavily on its old business model. 💡 The moral of the story: lack of innovation never leads to success. #innovation #verizon

I recently had an insightful interaction with a customer that I felt like I should share with you all. This customer boldly stated that consumers don't simply want the newest, coolest and cleanest products when they visit a store. They also want a personalized experience, competent staffing throughout the store, and a sense of trust. They want to be more than just a sale, or meaningless exchange; they want to feel heard, have their particular needs satisfied, and have faith in their decisions, and that they make the right decision. In this case was to switch to t-mobile… I can proudly say that at T-Mobile, we take pride in consistently exceeding these standards brought up by this customer + more… Our staff strives to be educated to provide each customer with a personalized service, that customers strive to have. We think it's important to take the time to clearly and knowledgeably explain our service and products to our customers in order to establish confidence around T-Mobile and what we can offer. We strive everyday to make our customers feel seen, heard, and valued. My personal goal, is to have every customer that comes through my door leave satisfied with either, a decision they made, a product they purchased, or a conversation they had. According to the annual Axios & The Harris Poll 100 Corporate Reputation Survey, there has been “a systemic loss in corporate reputation” over the past year. Consumer dissatisfaction with higher prices is part of the story, but 72% of those surveyed believe companies are taking advantage of inflation to increase their profit margins. The study also suggests that in addition to wanting companies to prioritize fair prices (53%), Americans would prefer they focus on improving product quality, safety, and consumer satisfaction (48%) and paying good wages/promoting economic growth through job creation (48%) as opposed to ESG (23%), AI investment (13%), and taking proactive stances on societal or cultural issues (11%). NVIDIA, (Minnesota's own) 3M, Fidelity Investments, Sony, and adidas round out the top five highest reputations showing "excellent" or "very good" scores. Among the trends, Fidelity Investments, Hobby Lobby, and The Coca-Cola Company saw the highest positive changes in reputation while Starbucks, Ford Motor Company, and Anheuser-Busch saw the lowest drops in reputation. Excellent advice for every vendor and MSP from Tiffani Bova at Ingram Micro ONE this week, as relayed by our Rich Freeman: “The fastest way to get customers to love your brand is to get employees to love their job.” Sounds obvious, she says, but many execs push back. “I don’t need my people to love their job. I need them to do their job.” Sure, Bova says, “but if you don’t give them an environment where they can succeed, they feel safe, they’re learning, they see a career, they feel like they can collaborate easily, they’re being challenged every day, what happens is they start to disengage. And when they start to disengage, what happens? They don’t go the extra mile. They aren’t willing to collaborate. They don’t do what you need them to do for your customers. So what happens?
