Sounds obvious, she says, but many execs push back. “I don’t need my people to love their job. I need them to do their job.”
Sure, Bova says, “but if you don’t give them an environment where they can succeed, they feel safe, they’re learning, they see a career, they feel like they can collaborate easily, they’re being challenged every day, what happens is they start to disengage. And when they start to disengage, what happens? They don’t go the extra mile. They aren’t willing to collaborate. They don’t do what you need them to do for your customers. So what happens? Customer experience and growth are impacted.”
