Why I Donate: Carrie and Clint Bradford "We learned about MWSF in Fall 2022 after we reconnected with family, including Clay who has MWS. We were eager to learn more about him! MWSF was one of the only resources that came up in our search. It was reassuring to learn there is a 'landing pad' out there for people living with MWS and their families - we knew we wanted to be a part of this effort. Clay is a source of light and joy to everyone who knows him. He gives the best hugs and knows every detail imaginable about Monster Jam (not to mention his personal memorabilia collection!). Clay loves with his whole heart - he makes us feel so special by recalling shared memories or thinking up fun things to do together in the future. We can’t imagine the bewilderment a family must feel when they get to an MWS diagnosis. We know that when Clay was diagnosed, MWSF served as an information-source for Clay, and connected him to a community that was out there waiting for him. We learned about the research projects that MWSF helps to support as well. In this way, it’s rewarding to be a small part of both the “here and now” of the MWSF community and also look to what the future could hold thanks to these research efforts." 🌟 Birthday Celebrating : 5400 ml of Life-Saving Gift! 🌟 Two years ago I made a resolution unlike any other - to become a regular blood donor. Today (my bday), I'm thrilled to share that I've donated 5400 ml of blood! It's not just a number; it's a testament to the power of commitment and the impact we can have on others' lives. Blood donation is a journey of care, embodying the core values of #DNV – #Care, #Dare, #Share. Each time I donated, it was a moment of caring for the well-being of someone unknown, daring to make a difference, and sharing a part of me that can bring hope and life to others. Did you know that every 450 ml of blood can save up to three lives? This means my donations could have impacted around 36 lives! It's overwhelming and humbling to think about the potential ripple effect of this simple act. As we stride into another year, I encourage you to consider blood donation. It's more than just giving blood; it's about sharing a part of yourself to give someone a chance at life. It's about daring to step up and care for our community. I am #proud to share my #participation in a recent #blood #donation #drive. This experience was profoundly #impactful, allowing me to contribute to a #critical #cause and help #save #lives. #Volunteering for this #initiative was a humbling reminder of the importance of giving back to the #community and the #difference we can make through small yet #significant #actions. The blood donation drive was well-organized and saw a #significant turnout, reflecting the #collective #commitment of our #community to #support those in need. From registration to donation, the entire process was seamless, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the organizers and volunteers. I was particularly moved by the #stories of #individuals whose lives had been saved by #donated blood, #reinforcing the value of such #initiatives. Participating in this drive not only allowed me to donate blood but also to assist in various capacities, from helping with the registration process to providing refreshments for donors. It was a #fulfilling experience that #emphasized the #power of #community and #collective #action. Through this initiative, I gained a deeper #appreciation for the #importance of #healthcare support and the role we can all play in making a positive #impact.
