Developing new technology is tough, and pushing it to market prematurely can lead to failure. NASA created Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs), a 9-level scale to assess the maturity of your technology, helping to identify development needs and risks. From basic principles (TRL 1) to proven systems (TRL 9), TRLs guide you through the journey. Widely used by NASA, the Department of Defense (DoD), the Department of Energy (DoE), and others, TRLs are crucial for government contracts and innovation. Don’t get stuck in the “Valley of Death” - let our experts help you succeed! Learn more about TRLs here: https://buff.ly/4cG2dtM

Did you know that NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration has a long history of supporting advancements in Wildland Fire Management? Attached is a presentation I delivered to DOI leadership in 2019, highlighting three significant advancements in aerial firefighting in which NASA played a key role in fielding. NASA continues that support today with initiatives like the Advanced Capabilities for Emergency Response Operations (ACERO - https://lnkd.in/eac_B5pi) and FireSense (https://lnkd.in/e-ABf8Qq). Responsibility, trust and commitment are the three words for which I am valued in my professional life
Technology is colorless and value-neutral - we at MW technologies have also incorporated this as a model into our philosophy.
Albert Johns examines a plug nozzle for the Air Force’s advanced manned strategic aircraft in the 8x6 Supersonic Wind Tunnel at NASA's Lewis Research Center in May 1967. Johns became a renowned expert on inlets and nozzles over his 40-year career and was recognized in 1998 as one of NASA’s Superstars of Modern Aeronautics. In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, NASA Glenn is highlighting employees who have contributed at our center throughout the years. #BlackHoleWeek Thursday Feature: Supermassive Black Holes Launch Newborn Radio Jets 🌌 In November 2020, a group of NRL researchers led a team of scientists who discovered some of the youngest known radio jets ever seen, launched by growing supermassive black holes in the centers of distant galaxies. These jets were estimated to be only decades old - this is infancy in the life span of space phenomenon! How could NRL scientists detect these jets at such an early stage? VLASS (Very Large Array Sky Survey) The age of the black holes offers a unique opportunity to study their formation and growth. This could help us understand how galaxies and black holes evolve together over billions of years. This research also has practical applications for the Navy! ⚓️ These newborn jets can improve the precision of GPS by providing new reference points in space. ️ Click here to read the full article: https://lnkd.in/eWBJGNQt US Navy United States Department of Defense NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration #NRL #people #partnerships #revolutionize #innovation #usnavy #education #scientist #laboratory #NRLresearch #ScientificAdvancements #scientificresearch #FutureTech #research #science #technology #SatelliteOperations #FutureOfSpace #nasa #spacescience #spaceexploration #NCST #spacetech #spacecraftengineering #spacesystems

THROWBACK THURSDAY... Looking back at our journey with Cygnus, it’s hard to believe that it’s been over a decade since we first tested the Cygnus ORB D1 Service Module- in the fall of 2010! Our initial test was a monumental effort, involving approximately 12 servohydraulic actuators with force capacities ranging from 7,000 to 100,000 lbs. We used over 400 strain channels and employed laser tracking technology to capture structural deflection at discrete points on the structure in three directions to obtain displacement vector. Since then, we have expanded our testing capabilities dramatically, integrating a wider range of actuators, now spanning from 600 to 220,000 lbs. Our commitment to monitoring the health and behavior of our structures during testing is unwavering. We can independently control up to 32 actuators at one time, while simultaneously monitoring and plotting up to 500 channels of strain and deflection. Just this week Northrop Grumman successfully launched the 21st Cygnus mission to the ISS for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Here’s to many more successful missions and innovations in space exploration! #AASC #Aerospace #Cygnus #InternationalSpaceStation

Did you know that being in space changes blood clotting and inflammation behavior in astronauts? Principal Investigator Hansjorg Schwertz, MD, PhD, MOH, CMRO, FACOEM, together with his team Marina Tristão and Neal Tolley from the University of Utah School of Medicine where selected by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Biological and Physical Sciences Division to perform the Megakaryocyte Flying - One (MeF1) experiment onboard the ISS to better understand this behavior. Pictured below is our recent experiment verification test - a last dry run on Earth before the exact same protocol with the exact same spaceflight hardware will be conducted in microgravity on the ISS later this year.
