This (post ⬇️) shines a light on a really important aspect of the work of theatres…over 600 people came to Colwyn Bay today to watch the pantomime. The economic multiplier impacts (generated by theatre audiences, casts and technical teams) are huge. According to a SOLT / UK Theatre report in October: A recent study conducted on behalf of SOLT & UK Theatre suggests that the UK theatre sector generates £2.39bn GVA and supports 205,000 workers. This is made up of £1bn of direct turnover in the UK theatre sector, generating £1.3bn worth of turnover in the broader economy. #theatre

A full house at Theatr Colwyn today for Mother Goose, produced by Colwyn Bay’s very own Magic Light Productions. A brilliant show full of local references and humour, incredible costumes and - of course - the exceptional surroundings of the oldest working Theatre in Wales. Behind me there are more than 300 full seats, 300 pairs of feet coming to Colwyn Bay on a Saturday afternoon. So many towns have lost these assets over the last few decades. Times have never been tougher but it’s so important to remember the unique value this theatre brings both to the economy of The Bay and its distinctive identity. You can quite literally feel the magic of the place.

Broadway was first nicknamed the “Great White Way” back in 1902 due to the bright lights of the marquees, billboards, and posters. The Olympia was the first Broadway theater to use electric lights in 1895. But the theater scene is not where the internationally known, north-south thoroughfare got its name. Broadway is a translation from the Dutch phrase brede weg, or "broad road." Here’s a fun fact: Broadway follows the “Mohican Trail” created by the Lenape. #propertymanagement #propertymanager #propertycare #propertymaintenance #homemaintenance #nyc #residential #manhattan #history #broadway

Hmmmm did managers create our sense of busyness or did we in order to get their attention? I’m loving these #teacupchronicles by Donna. If you want to hear more wisdom from THE best productivity coach ever check out my recent podcast episode 💬 🔗 https://lnkd.in/grJC3y-J

At the risk of upsetting my friend Gabrielle Dolan with a new piece of jargon, I came across the phrase "Productivity Theatre" today. It's the things we do to pretend, or create the illusion of, busy-ness. I'd welcome your thoughts on this. #productivity #busy #meetings

Working on new cabaret characters… 💃 It’s a lot of fun! The creative process can be frustrating at times, but it’s also incredibly fulfilling when it goes right. Still, the work we do is always developing and changing. It’s the nature of live performance (especially cabaret) that the audience will affect your approach in some way, whether it’s subtly or outright - like if you’re reacting to their energy vs. involving them actively. The work changes every night we perform, and it keeps growing. So whether you’ve seen our shows before or you’re just a regular theatre fan - let us know. ⬇️ 👉 What do you like the most about live performance? 👉 What do you feel every good cabaret needs? 👉 What kinds of representation do you wish you saw more of in the theatre? #Performance #Theatre #Development
