These words hit home and remind us of the urgent need for action. VETS Co-Founder, and Executive Director, Amber Capone shines a light on the staggering reality of veteran suicides and the collective responsibility we share in addressing this crisis. As a nation, we cannot turn a blind eye to this heartbreaking statistic. To honor the sacrifices our veterans have made, we must channel our efforts towards comprehensive research. Through increased research, we can gain crucial insights into effective treatments, interventions, and support systems that can save lives and offer hope to those in need. Let's join forces and advocate for more research, better healthcare, and increased support networks for our veterans. #veterans #military #supportsystem #advocacy #policyreform #militaryfamily #psychedelic

On August 9, 2024, the FDA issued a Complete Response Letter, denying approval for MDMA-assisted therapy as a treatment for PTSD. While we respect the FDA’s commitment to safety, the cost of inaction is staggering. Every day, roughly 20 veterans die by suicide—this is unacceptable. VETS remains steadfast in our efforts to: 💊Provide access to psychedelic-assisted therapies abroad. 🔬Conduct research to build an irrefutable case for these treatments. 📢Advocate tirelessly to make these innovative therapies available on U.S. soil. We are never out of the fight. Join us in our mission to end veteran suicide. Read the full statement and take action here: https://bit.ly/4fQsPu2

VETS applauds the bipartisan efforts of 80 Congress members urging President Biden and the FDA to further consider approval of MDMA-assisted therapy. In one of two letters from Congress addressed to the FDA Commissioner, Senate members write, “As a nation, we cannot allow our veterans to continue to suffer in silence and must identify treatments proven to drastically decrease the adverse effects of PTSD.” We are optimistic that the FDA will follow the science and expedite access to this transformative treatment.
