For the first time, the PlugFest prioritized security as a central theme, underscoring its importance in the development of Open RAN. VIAVI provided security testing with automation across a Mavenir end-to-end O-RAN at CableLabs, and another vendor's O-DU and O-CU at Digital Catapult's SONIC Labs. #31, Open RAN isn’t quite ready for mass market adoption(Work In Progress) But it will be certainly. The consensus from various summits/discussions is that the RAN market will evolve over time, but it will be a steady process (which may not suit everyone). Two MAIN reasons accounting to Open RAN rollouts : One focused on ecosystem diversity, the second on the critical importance of the RAN intelligent controller (RIC) as the main route to straightening out the kinks and settling the Open RAN environment down for steady technical improvement.
