Just released! General Motors is proud to unveil our 2023 Sustainability Report, showcasing our progress towards an all-electric future. This report is special to me for many reasons – three years ago, I stepped into the CSO role not knowing exactly what this journey would look like for my team. Today, I’m proud to show the actions we’ve taken to advance our bold climate goals. In this report, we highlight our initiatives to increase electric vehicle adoption, forge strategic partnerships for supply chain sustainability and support the development of a reliable grid. See how we have surpassed our waste diversion target for the second year in a row and continue to make progress integrating sustainability into our business from the initial design and selection of materials, through product development and manufacturing, to innovative solutions for end of life. These successes are a testament to the work we’ve done to prioritize sustainability and efficiency in our products and operations. What a great honor! ZF will receive the “German Sustainability Award” in the automotive industry category at the end of November. The jury of experts primarily honored ZF's far-reaching commitment to sustainable recycling management. The Remanufacturing site in Bielefeld, which specializes in the remanufacturing of powertrain modules for vehicle manufacturers and the global aftermarket, is leading the way. Other key starting points for the technology company include reducing CO2 emissions along the entire value chain. ZF also offers innovative products that reduce emissions in road traffic while ZF wind power transmissions contribute to sustainable energy generation. The Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis e.V. (German Sustainability Award Foundation), which, in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, the DIHK (German Chambers of Industry and Commerce) and other partners, has selected the award winners for individual sectors. 🚀 Our colleagues at SEAT S.A. have achieved the best #sustainability results in their history, reducing the environmental impact of their facilities by 53% since 2010! 🌱 SEAT S.A. has made remarkable strides in minimizing the environmental impact of the factories in Martorell, Barcelona and El Prat: - Achieved a 69% CO2 reduction since 2010 - Reduced waste by 78% and solvent emissions by 45%. - Cut water use by 45%, focusing on efficient technologies and water recirculation. - Reduced energy consumption by 33% since 2010, with 100% renewable electricity since 2012. 🌞 With the initiative "SEAT al Sol 2", 39,000 solar panels will be added, tripling the capacity of self-generating #renewable energy. Additionally, they've introduced the Volkswagen Group’s first 100% electric paint drying oven in Martorell. This reduces energy consumption by 25% and saves 2,500 tonnes of CO2, annually. ✨ The goal is to further push these achievements and drive their transformation towards full #electrification and sustainability, in alignment with the Volkswagen Group vision for carbon neutrality by 2040.

Nokian Tyres has been again included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index, which means we are among the most sustainable listed companies in Europe! 🙌 For us, sustainability is concrete actions and innovations. For example, we’re currently building the first zero CO2 emission factory in the tire industry in Romania, and we recently joined the Polestar 0 project that aims for creating the first carbon neutral car in the world. Our key sustainability targets include reducing CO2 emissions in line with our science-based targets, increasing the share of either recycled or renewable raw materials in tires, securing safer and better work and improving the sustainability of the supply chain. 🌼 The DJSI Europe is comprised of corporate leaders in sustainability as identified by S&P Global.
