The Harvard Business Review reported that organizations with diverse and inclusive workplaces see higher employee engagement, increased employee retention, and improved productivity.

It was truly an honor to participate in Latino Leaders Magazine C-Suite and Board Directors Forum last week, immersing myself in a community of inspiring individuals. During the event, I had the privilege of engaging in a fireside chat with @JorgeFerraez, the co-founder and publisher of Latino Leaders Magazine, where we delved into the crucial topic of leadership and drew insights from my 35-year journey at the helm of The Hollister Group.   Something I’ve been thinking about since last week, is it’s essential to recognize our shared humanity amidst this chaotic world. We are all on a quest to evolve into the best version of ourselves. The cornerstone of this journey is self-awareness—an indispensable tool for identifying our blind spots and fostering continuous growth. For me, the pursuit of self-awareness is not a destination but an ongoing journey. It's a reminder that, left unchecked, we may inadvertently perpetuate patterns that no longer serve what we are up to in our lives.    I truly feel self-awareness is one of the most critical leadership traits to work on as it can be a true game changer. In doing so, we contribute not only to our personal growth but also to a world that will undoubtedly benefit the growth of our families, communities, and organizations. 

2024 Annual Conference is just over a month away, and we are BULLISH about the future of our credit unions. Shared resources services are critical to the credit union industry. Over the past 22 years, together, we’ve identified shared resources for front or back-office operations. A model that will allow you to build a financial model that reduces balance sheet risk and recognizes positive income statements. As a CUSO, what could you do and do better? Change your perspective, ELEVATE your view. Here’s a bit of our playbook: 1. Our model: We looked at our model and found we could identify special pricing models to support and subsidize small CUs 2. Partner, don’t control: Don’t become the competition to your credit unions 3. Build a collaborative solution set with other CUSOs customized for all sizes of credit unions 4. Recognize the individual credit union brands regardless of size or growth potential 5. Building and leaning into what we are known for; building shared resource services - leaning into the network effect, and build economies of scale for our credit unions. Giving our credit unions access to things like: - access to experts, and workforces that they never thought possible, at disruptively low price points - New technologies - Multifaceted business models - Increased transparency - Access to new markets Can not wait to see you there!
