⌛On average, it takes 2 to 3 years for patients with pulmonary hypertension to receive an accurate diagnosis in many countries. Shockingly, by the time a diagnosis is confirmed, 75% of these individuals already find themselves in the advanced stages of pulmonary hypertension. This delay in identification underscores the critical need for early detection and diagnosis. 🩺Early detection is paramount, as the median survival rate for individuals without treatment stands at a mere 2.8 years with an estimated five-year survival rate of 34%. Rapid advancements in medical technology, research and increased awareness within the healthcare community are crucial to address this diagnostic lag.
