Hi, I'm Liam and that's Lemmy. I'm a videographer and Co-Founder at Studio Kin. Over the years we've done a ton of work in the food and beverage space and I'm just here today just to break down how we make that work, how we make captivating video for our clients that really arms the sales and marketing teams to give them exactly what they need. High quality videos are absolutely essential, especially if you want to set yourself apart from other businesses. You'd be very surprised to find that not only in the food and beverage space, in other industries and different sectors companies can get quite antiquated and old school with their marketing. This often comes down to budget, and creative things like video production often fall to the wayside. But you'll tend to find that other businesses tend to try and align themselves with the companies that are producing high quality visuals, and that are the Mercedes and the Porche of whatever specific industry that is, this is the magic of video. It has the potential to create value in what you do and make your business appear more aspirational. It's all about brand affinity and getting people to connect with your brand on that level and want to associate themselves with your brand, if not in the least making competitors get very, very worried. So one of the first things we consider is what are we using this video for? I get many people approaching us for video work and they simply say we want a company overview video or we want a video about this new product or this new service. That tends to be the idea from the client side, which is great, but I instantly back that back in terms of but what we're trying to achieve with the video. You don't need to get philosophical about this. Let's break down what kind of results you're looking to get from this. Are you looking to we want X amount of people to like our page or share our post digging deeper, do you actually want to arm the sales team with this information and then what else can we do to make sure that they have all the edits that they need to be able to, yes, upload this to socials, to share via e-mail and all that good stuff, but when they're face to face with the customer, they have everything they need on whatever portal they're using to win that presentation, to win that client over. It's a very basic part of the process, but it's one one part that's often overlooked is just simply figuring out what are we aiming to do with this video. And then when we start with pre production and into the production, everyone feels much more comfortable knowing that, yes, this is a lot of fun shooting the video and it's gonna look really nice, but we actually have some objectives here that we want to try and hit and it's serving as sales and marketing purpose In terms of storytelling and branding, it's key to kind of align what we're doing with the video with your brand. Too many people jump into things and say we want to do this because Nike did it. We want to do this because Apple did it. It's great to take inspiration from other people. We do in pre-production, we do it with storyboarding. We're taking stills from other videos and stuff like that. You really need to think about what your business is and who you are because as soon as you try and be another business and replicate that, we might make a fantastic video. But if it doesn't align with anything else that you're putting out there in terms of your sales and marketing or it just doesn't fit right with your brand, then you've got an issue. The last part essentially is the format as well. We're looking to create a promotional video for your business where are we looking to use this? What kind of formats do you need and what kind of cuts do you need? And what's the ideal format for this video? Rather than thinking I'm paying someone to create a video, so I want the video to be 2 1/2 minutes long. Actually this needs to be 20 seconds or 30 seconds long. It's thinking about the final impact of the video and thinking about audience retention as well. Because if you imagine someone else posted the video that you're talking about, would you sit and watch it for that long? It's considering quality over quantity.
