The RAHUL DRAVID Gesture ❤️ BCCI wanted to pay him 5 crores for India's World Cup Victory. He refused. He said I am happy with the 2.5 crores which is similar to other coaching staff. In today's greed driven world this is such a breath of fresh air . Many CEO's who wanted to Quote Rahul Dravid in their Keynote address to their employees may not Quote him any more as they will be worried that their teams may ask him to do what Dravid has done. And that will be tough :)

We have been lucky to see legends born on the pitch - rarely do we see them do stuff off the pitch that makes for legends that will be told for generations to come! #Leadership

Undoubtedly, the most selfless cricketer India has ever produced. No wonder Rohit too follows his footsteps. However, wondering, as to why couldn’t BCCI increase the prize money and offer ₹5 cr each to all four coaches? They have tons and tons of Untaxed money. Isn’t it Vikram?

While there's some merit to the argument, it's important to distinguish between the sports and corporate worlds. In Rahul Dravid's sphere, individuals are often motivated primarily by their passion for the game rather than financial rewards. This contrasts sharply with the corporate environment, where employees frequently prioritize compensation and are more likely to change jobs for better pay packages. The dynamics of loyalty and motivation differ significantly between these two realms, making direct comparisons challenging.

Can someone explain how this gesture is noble? 🤔 Rahul Dravid did a splendid job and was paid a bonus as was everybody else. He was the head coach, carried higher responsibility and therefore entitled to a bigger bonus. It's that simple. Are you suggesting that all the players should also have refused a bigger bonus than players on bench? Would that make the players noble and selfless? 😃 If Dravid didn't need the money he was paid, couldn't he have donated it to someone who did? Perhaps to cricket academies to buy kits. That would have been a sensible thing to do rather than give it back to the BCCI.

He could also have accepted and spent on other cricket support for junior talents or other folks in need for fund to enter cricket coaching!

Amazing gesture! It reminds me of a situation when I was leading a team of 200+ members. The team had done really well for the year and my boss gave me the performance payout numbers for my team. He told me to keep something for myself too. I honestly told him that the team deserved it more, they worked harder than expected and asked my portion to be distributed to them.

England 2012 test, Dravid drives & misses but was given out caughtbehind. Asks non-striker whether to take review as he didn't felt nick. Non-striker says, there was clear noise, so he walks . Replay shows, bat has flicked end of shoe lace, metal end. He followed protocol of asking nonstriker's view before taking review. Today, he followed protocol of all coach gets same prize money
