Looking through wine from a different perspective. I went out recently to shoot this video, and the result was amazing! As a wine professional the colour of a wine is very important to us as it gives away lots of information about the wine we have in front of us. - [ ] Which grape variety has been used - [ ] The age of the wine - [ ] The method of vinification/ageing But have you thought about the fact that our senses can trick us? Yeah they do! Being born with our senses, we have this tendency of taking them for granted. We don’t really train our senses to be more performant. We are just using them without even thinking about it. I have created Vinesthesia to showcase that looking at wine through an in depth sensory experience can bring so much clarity. Level up your experience in wine, grab a ticket to my next wine tasting workshop and experience the essence of wine through the senses Tickets available through my website Limited seats https://lnkd.in/gP4USNkd

One of the most discussed topics in the wine world is how to assess the quality of a wine. Many people think that they can judge the quality of a wine based on things like the wine’s colour, the bottle, its tears/legs. But these things tell you nothing about the quality of a wine. What really tells you the quality of a wine is the word BLIC Here’s what BLIC stands for B - Balance L - Length I - Intensity C - Complexity High-quality wines will express intense flavors and a lingering finish, with flavors lasting after you’ve swallowed the wine. Flavors that disappear immediately can indicate that your wine is of moderate quality at best. The better the wine, the longer the flavor finish will last on your palate. Preparing for CMS is taking a deep dive into the fascinating world of wines. While the course textbook is your guide for the expansive theory, tasting wines is also an integral part of the CMS curriculum. And we all know how difficult it would be to open new bottles of wine every time we sit down to practice our tasting. But thank the wine gods for @coravin, which allows you to pour as much as you want and impeccably preserves the rest of the bottle for your next pour. It definitely is an important part of our tasting toolkit, what about you?

In vino, veritas—and in vino, clima, apparently. It's wild (and awesome!) to me old wine tasting records are a decent proxy for temperature. That story and more of the best from Science Magazine and science in this edition of #ScienceAdviser: https://lnkd.in/gxE5WiBK

Wine Question : What Does Vintage Mean? I'd recently conducted a tasting plus birthday event and it turned out that quite a number of participants had this question on their mind : What is a vintage? The vintage refers to the year in which the grapes for that particular wine was harvested. It seems simple enough a concept, but it also carries a great deal of information : The amount of rain a region received, the range of temperatures, not to mention hail, frost or wildfires, for example—can greatly affect the quality and quantity of wine made from that harvest. So by knowing which year and understanding what happened in a given area during a particular vintage can tell you a lot about the quality and characteristics of a specific bottle. #Quickknowledgepost #wineclarity The terms we use for clarity are clear if the wine is clear. If it's slightly off-clear, we might say that the wine is dull. Less clear than that, we may use the term hazy or cloudy, for bright wine must be litter cleaner than simply clear. The word brilliant iis reserved for wines that truly stand out from others in their category.
