My two weeks at EY-Parthenon as a Summer Intern Entering the impressive offices of EY-Parthenon, I was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. As a strategy consultant and research intern, I knew I was about to dive into a world of challenges and insights, especially delving into Energy Transition and the Future of Oil Demand. ➡ Warm Welcome: Right from the start, EY-Parthenon made me feel right at home. The HR team greeted me warmly, the orientation program was well-organized, and meeting my mentor felt like meeting an old friend. It was clear from day one that the company valued inclusivity and respect. ➡ Learning and Growth: One of the best parts of my first days was the chance to learn so much. EY-Parthenon had set up various training sessions to help us sharpen our skills and understand the industry better. They emphasized the importance of always learning and growing. ➡ Team Spirit: Joining my project team focused on Energy Transition and the Future of Oil Demand was eye-opening. Everyone brought different experiences and perspectives, but we all worked together seamlessly. Even though I was just an intern, I felt like a valued part. ➡ Reflections: As my first weeks wrapped up, I couldn't help but reflect on all I'd experienced. Diving into strategic consulting in the energy sector was both challenging and fulfilling. It reignited my passion for this field and confirmed my desire to pursue it further. ➡ In Conclusion: My two weeks at EY-Parthenon have been incredibly rewarding. I can't wait to see what the rest of my internship holds and how I can continue to grow and contribute. MSc FinTech with Business Analytics Student | Diligent Finance Professional | FinTech Enthusiast | Westminster Employability Platinum Award Winner 🥇 | Gold Medalist - SZABIST 🏅 | Analytical Mindset | Integrity-Centric
🌟 I have just completed an inspiring four-day virtual internship with Bright Network. It was an insightful event with great learning opportunities and tips from industry experts, which truly encouraged me to pursue my dreams with full confidence. Besides an abundance of insights shared by leading industry experts, they also shared information about graduate routes, what they are looking for in candidates, and their work cultures. I was also given the opportunity to audit a fictional client as an internship project from PwC to experience life as an auditor. It involved doing a PESTLE analysis to research the client and better understand their industry, examining the client's financial reports to calculate materiality, conducting stock counts and inventory valuations to compare with the client's records, and finally closing the audit by reflecting on observations with my own auditor's opinion. I am grateful to the Bright Network team for an incredible internship experience for students and for managing a forum of 26,000+ attendees in an organised and professional way. Here are my key takeaways from those who inspired me the most: 🙌 Ajay Kabra (PwC) "Take opportunities to put yourself through challenges; Be Brave, Be curious!" "Everything depends upon the mindset to move forward." "You cannot be perfect at everything, acknowledge that!" 🙌 Joao Martins (Deloitte) "Impact every day! Reflect on what went well and what could have gone better." 🙌 Panel Discussion on Workforce for Tomorrow Panellists: Felicity Lees-Price (Adobe), Holly Harris (Ark Teacher Training), Suresh Patel (Forvis Mazars Group), Pooja Mangat (Mondelēz International) "Practice for competency tests using the STAR approach, and combine it with Learn (What did you learn from that experience)." "Build a network by asking for feedback." "Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking" (Book recommendation) 🙌 Zoe Wells, Aidan Ward-Hendry (ICAEW) "When someone disagrees with your idea, have a conversation in a respectful way; Identify -> Analyse -> Solve." 🙌 Charlotte Sangster (PwC) "Don’t give up! Show resilience." "Be yourself - Your personal impact is an important part of shaping your personal brand." 🙌 Laura Tye (Clyde & Co) "Be determined; be curious; take as many opportunities as you can; only you can sell yourself; nothing is fixed." 🙌 Emma Goodall (IBM) "Be intuitive and dynamic while you are working." "Have empathy, curiosity, and critical thinking." 🙌 Sara Jones (BT Group) "Embrace change, take opportunities even when it means coming out of your comfort zone." "Do good, be kind." "Don’t worry if you fail, failure is inevitable. How we respond to it matters and drives success." 🙌 Melissa Richardson (British Airways) "Have inner enthusiasm." 🙌 James Uffindell (Bright Network) "Be kind to yourself." Thank you, Bright Network, for this wonderful opportunity! 🌟 #BrightNetwork #InternshipExperience #CareerGrowth #IEUK2024

Celebrating my first month in office at EY in Rogers! Here are a few key takeaways from this exciting journey so far: Building Connections: One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is the importance of forging connections within the office. Feedback from my seniors has emphasized just how crucial it is to network and engage with the entire team. I'm committed to expanding my network and leveraging these relationships to enhance my internship experience. Embracing Curiosity: Asking questions has been instrumental in my learning process. I've discovered that here at EY, curiosity is not only welcomed but encouraged. Whether it's clarifying tasks or understanding the rationale behind processes, asking "why" has enabled me to grasp concepts more deeply and contribute meaningfully to projects. The Power of Collaboration: Collaboration truly is key to success. I've come to appreciate that working alongside my peers and tapping into their expertise not only fosters a supportive environment but also leads to superior results. By actively seeking input from those around me, I'm able to produce work that is comprehensive and well-rounded. In conclusion, my first month at EY has been filled with valuable insights into networking, the importance of inquiry, and the benefits of collaboration. I'm eager to continue learning and growing in the weeks ahead, and I'm excited to see where this internship will take me! @ey_us #EYintern #Accounting #Internship #WinterIntern

Intern or employee for 2 years? 🤔 That's the question I asked myself during my experience at PwC Luxembourg. 🇱🇺 Arriving for a 6-month financial audit internship, I leave the company today with the feeling of resigning from my position as an employee with two years of seniority. You might think that my feeling is related to the fact that time has passed very quickly? I would be wrong to say no, but that's not the main reason! ➡ The real reason is that I was given my CHANCE 🍀 : the chance to demonstrate what I could bring to the team, as well as my desire to discover and learn, which ultimately represents the very essence of an internship. Of course, without prior experience, one cannot claim to perform certain tasks. But being involved in meetings, being entrusted with responsibilities just as interesting and important as those of employees, complemented by careful and constructive follow-up, ultimately constitutes an ideal for any intern looking to make the most of their internship. Far from feeling like an intern assigned "to intern tasks," this internship far exceeded my initial expectations. That's why I would particularly like to thank the team of my last mission, which represented a large part of this internship. Thank you to you, Nicholas, mission manager, for this chance you gave me, Mévrick Jolo and Yassine Mordi for very high-quality coachings that allowed me to evolve more quickly within the mission. I would also like to particularly thank the person who followed my development and allowed me to make the most of this internship, Adriana Vojtkova. As you can see, it's thanks to this trust and opportunity given by my team that I experienced my internship not just as a simple introduction to the professional world, but as the enriching experience of a confirmed employee. This personal enrichment as an intern was incredibly rewarding and has undoubtedly set a new standard for what I hope for from future opportunities. 🚀 ➡ The results of this internship ? ▪ Actively participated in investment fund audits, assessing the financial compliance of financial statements. ▪Refined my expertise in financial regulations, as well as in the analysis of balance sheets and income statements. ▪Worked in an international environment, thus enriching my collaborative and cultural skills. ▪Acquired a solid mastery of Excel and audit software, improving the processing of financial data. ▪And of course, made beautiful encounters, adding invaluable value to this experience. #internship #financialaudit #PwCLuxembourg (PS: Be lenient with AI, it's learning too.. 😅 🔽 )

It was a great beginning of IEUK virtual internship experience programme hosted by Bright Network Really huge thanks to Philip Yarrow and James Uffindell for this opportunity. Key speakers and some takeaways It was really great hearing from Ajay Kabra - a partner in Audit from PwC, talking about his career journey looking for a global exposure which made him apply to the firm. He also spoke about the importance of staying true to oneself and this makes us unique in our own way Joao Martin from Deloitte talked about the core skills that is needed for aspiring leaders. Which includes Communication, Time management, Accountability, Problem solving and Collaboration It was also great listening to Rachel Gbogbo-Morthy Goke solanke Alicia Thomas Jonhson adeyanju Conrad Essilfie-Conduah and Mahari Hay speaking about black diversity in professions and some challenges that come up and how to overcome it. Collectively, I enjoyed the session because it was really welcoming and the conversation was relatable, talking about imposter syndrome. Charlotte Sangster from PwC UK discussed about building a personal brand. Her discussion was very informative and I learnt the importance of showing one's value through my brand. She further talks about the mistakes that are often made which could possibly impact one's network. It can be little things like posting offensive content on social media, having poor communication skills in a professional environment and showcasing poor integrity or being unprofessional by showing up late to work or missing deadlines. Hearing her discussions made me realise the importance of self-reflection. Overall, this experience is very insightful and I am looking forward to the next few days of the internship. #student #internship #experience #networking
