How do you deal with Attrition and Resignations as a startup founder? Some context on how we hire first - we have an elaborate process before we offer someone an FTE position - Cohort based hiring through Internshala - Assignments to read Intent among multiple applicants, followed by conversations around assignments to ensure genuineness - 6 to 8 weeks Internship training period - 6 months internship, option of Interning till they graduate - Offering an FTE offer letter or PPO to Interns who fit in Culturally*, with attitude of Ownership, Integrity and High Intent *remember culture evolves in an organisation just like affection in a relationship. So cultural fit means adaptability as well. Skill is like bare minimum either way but if the above elements are not there, we'd rather not give a FTE offer. And now when someone resigns where the cultural fit or attitude changes, we think Good Riddance and relieve them immediately. But when someone who's been a star performer, shown loyalty (very important in a startup), been with you through ups and downs resigns, it causes disruption. But yet, there should be celebration, as they're moving up in life. As bootstrapped startup we may not be able to match their financial and aspirational needs always, but we can certainly celebrate their existence in the organisation than sulk in their departure. And we just had one such case, our Employee No. 1, is stepping up in career and we wish him the best movements ahead. Congratulations Chandramouli Ghoshal, onwards and upwards. #startups #resignation #attrition PS: He still continues to do his work with utmost goal of impact than whiling it away during the notice period like many of professionals. This is how you don't burn the bridges.

Well said. Excellence doesn't have an expiry or notice period. Those who wish to excel will attempt to excel in any and every task.
