Just finished "Let My People Go Surfing" by Yvon Chouinard and the team at Patagonia / Patagonia Provisions (can't say I am suprised Yvon does not have an active LinkedIn profile based on the book). My favorite part of the book has been the effortless nature in which Patagonia distills major corporate strategies into small, actionable practices literally every company can take to improve their stewardship. Chief among them is how simply they break down their environmental philosophy into six tentants: 1. Lead an examined life 2. Clean up our own act 3. Do our penance 4. Support civil democracy 5. Do good 6. Influence other companies How many other organizations can cross off even half of these actions? Really recommend giving the book a read. (Also this picture from their 1990's catalog is absolutely insane.)

Imagine a camping festival with a power grid and high-speed internet access; a temporary village of geeks, crafters, and technology enthusiasts that’s lit up by night, and buzzing with activity during the day. Thousands of curious people will descend on our friendly open space to learn, share, and talk about what they love. ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD LTD will be held on 30 May–2 June 2024 at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, Eastnor. A key aspect of the event is villages.
