The annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) International Roadcheck, is being held May 14-16 across North America. It’s important to remember inspections should not just happen during next month’s Roadcheck event but throughout the year. While the inspections conducted during Roadcheck scrutinize all safety and compliance aspects of equipment and drivers, this year there will be two specific areas of concentration that you need to be aware of for your drivers on the road.

The #OurRoadsOurSafetyWeek initiative starts this week – a national, annual safety observance by the FMCSA that’s dedicated to raising awareness on how to share roads safely with large trucks and buses. 👉 We’re focusing on Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driver safety advocacy and awareness through: - CMV Speed Safety - CMV Seat Belt Safety - CMV Health Safety 🌟 Speeding was the most frequent driver-related factor in fatal crashes for CMV drivers at 7.3% and in 2020 accounted for 11,258 roadway fatalities. (FMCSA) CMV drivers are challenged with operating vehicles that are much heavier in weight and larger in size, and as a result must take even greater precautions like speed safety.
