👏 Fantastic to see the EV charging hub infrastructure build at Harrogate come to a conclusion. 🏗️ Work stated Autumn 2023 and I certainly underestimated the time required and complexity of converting a very traditional diesel depot to full electric, whilst still maintaining 100% operational capabilities. 👍 Massive thanks to colleagues at Transdev Blazefield. Our engineering team have been incredible, working through a building site without complaint. Our drivers for their patience both in the depot and bus station as we removed parking, changed layouts and bay allocations on a daily basis. 🪫🔋 Thanks to our charging providers ABB and Phihong Technology for supplying our new pantographs and depot DC chargers and finally our build partners Zenobē OGL Construction® Barratt Energy who are the real experts in this. 🚎 Next the exciting part as we accept 39 new vehicles over the summer from Alexander Dennis and EVOBUS (UK) LIMITED to work with our current Volvo Bus UK & Ireland electric fleet. One of the key challenges of plugging in such a massive demand for charging into the current (electricity) supply system is seeing many large fleets having to hire in diesel gensets (I've worked with Aggreko Gensets back in late 1970's when we had to run a standby set 24/7 for 6 months awaiting the final wayleave for the IIKV supply line to get resolved - we gave up plans a mains supply at Altnabreac Station - 7 miles from nearest public road and 11KV pole line! ) Still you might be close enough to the Aire at Keighley for a private low head axial flow turbine and relying on the basic benefit that water flows downhill 24/7? Professor Rutherford has done some amazing work on a modern waterwheel as well Not sure about Starbeck - I know its downhill from Harrogate & Knaresborough, but where is it relative to the Nidd?
