The Erosion of Pakistan's Economic Principles: A Path to Revolution? Pakistan's constitution clearly outlines the state's responsibilities in promoting the social and economic well-being of its citizens. Article 38 mandates that the state shall: - (a) Secure the well-being of all people, regardless of sex, caste, creed, or race, by raising living standards and preventing wealth concentration. - (b) Provide work facilities and adequate livelihood with reasonable rest and leisure. - (c) Ensure social security through compulsory social insurance. - (d) Provide basic necessities for those unable to earn due to infirmity, sickness, or unemployment. - (e) Reduce income disparities across all classes. However, the current economic policies and practices of Pakistan's rulers starkly contrast these constitutional mandates, potentially pushing the country towards a breaking point. Economic Potential vs. Reality Pakistan's total GDP, including both official and unofficial sectors, is estimated at $1.9 trillion. A mere 10% tax collection on this amount would be more than sufficient to set Pakistan on a robust growth path. Yet, the country struggles with tax collection, leaving vast potential untapped.
These protests won't make a difference ... The govt needs IMF to give them money so they can stuff their personal bank accounts. These harsh conditions, CLEARLY aimed at collapsing the country's economy are demands by the IMF. We need to ask the IMF why it is hell bent on destroying Pakistan's economy, while protecting the richest class by either giving them complete exemption from taxes or taxing them at ridiculously low rates like 2.5% ... They also need to answer WHY the first condition wasn't to have the government cut its budget in half, and lower salaries. While our money is being stolen, the government gave all employees a 20% increment from our pockets.

We just need a few quiet days - stay home. None goes anywhere - offices, stock exchanges, markets everything stays closed. There will be no need of any calls or any other strikes. This won’t last Day3, and government will be on its knees: no one can or will come to pull you out of your homes or streets- they can easily do tear gases and what not on these protests, however they can’t stop such a protest:
Guys before sharing your suggestion, it it requested to you to not judge the potential consequences, this is just the beginning of something massive. Someone has to take stand and then move to the next strategy. We all need to build a one strong platform that can connect all the people who wants to shout out. Let’s build a one platform for all….
Can we know about such protests widely & beforehand so more people can join in. It affects us all. And I am especially enraged at the fact that the tax money is not going to the poor & real development projects.
