All of this cold weather makes us wish we were back at Josh's Frogs like we were back in July because it is so toasty in there! Josh's Frogs was the July Employer for our Employer Showcase! They are a fast-growing online pet store and leader in the industry, and they pride themselves on selling only happy, healthy captive-bred amphibians, reptiles, and insects. They respect and protect their people and animals, value integrity, and commit to constant improvement. They promote from within and offer ample opportunities for growth and advancement. Josh's Frogs was one of the INC 5000's fastest-growing businesses in 2022, this year is their FIFTH year in a row on the INC 5000 List! Only 5% of businesses have made the list five years consecutively. One of their core values isn't "constantly growing" for nothing; the proof is in the pond. ***Join Us For Our Next Event*** Cultural Clashes with Our Faith & Work: Hard Work Thursday, May 16 7:00-8:00am (Doors Open at 6:45...grab your coffee early!) Tall Rabbit Coffee + Community, 2001 Calhoun Street Historically, many Americans have viewed hard work as a key to success in the workplace. Indeed, many well-developed societies have upheld that the cultural value of hard work is a moral virtue. A common belief is that hard work leads to success, wealth, promotions, status, and much more. Thus, hard work results in a better job, and a better job results in a better career. But, at what point is our emphasis on hard work too much? Intense dedication to hard work often brings long hours, overcommitments, workaholic tendencies, and other challenges to many people. Hard work does not always equate to good works. Join Dr. Larry Rottmeyer for this discussion on gaining new perspectives of the value of hard work and practical steps to reframe your own approach to your work. What else you can expect from the event: - Free coffee and snacks - Connect with other believers who want their work to matter and want to make a difference - Learn more about NEI CFW and other ways to connect and grow - Free parking available in the lot just east of the building - enter off Williams Street Learn more and register for free at neicfw.org/events/.

It was a pleasure being part of this year's 'Let Them Know It's Christmas' initiative, which saw us gift 25 organisations, $50,000 worth of LEAD scholarships! The demand for learning and professional development has been growing rapidly in recent years, and it’s not hard to see why. With the pace of technological change and the need for new skills, it’s more important than ever for individuals and organisations to invest in their own growth. Employers who prioritise professional development are better positioned to attract and retain top talent, while also creating a more engaged and productive workforce. At the same time, individuals who invest in their own learning and development are more likely to succeed in their careers and achieve their goals. The benefits of professional development extend beyond the individual and the organisation, however. By fostering a culture of learning and growth, we can create a more dynamic and innovative community that is better equipped to tackle the challenges of the future. If you or your team are looking for leadership development in 2024, don't go past our LEAD Professional Development and Mentoring program, currently accepting February 2024 participants.
We are thrilled to share the fantastic news that the scholarship recipients of our "Let Them Know It's Christmas" Giveaway have been chosen and contacted! The organisations awarded scholarships include: 💙 Black Dog Institute 💙 The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) 💙 SecondBite 💙 Redkite 💙 And more! Congratulations to each and every one of you. Our team is immensely proud to have supported such a diverse and inspiring group of individuals through the scholarships awarded. Your entries were nothing short of amazing, showcasing, passion, and a true spirit of giving that embodies the essence of this festive season. Every entry we received was a testament to the immense talent and thoughtfulness within our community. The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by all participants made our decision extremely challenging. Thank you to everyone who nominated their team which such kind words. Your participation made this campaign unforgettable. Let's continue spreading kindness and joy, not just during this festive season, but all year round. https://lnkd.in/ezQDQ5Vu #LTKIC2023 #BeaumontPeople #MeaningfulWork

At Rayden, offsites are not just office outings that we look forward to and have fun at - they are also the perfect opportunity for us to come together and connect face-to-face with our teams. Given that majority of our organization works remotely, the annual offsites play an important role in learning, team building and giving our hard-working members a much-needed break from their schedules. Here's what our offsite organizers had to share about their experiences: Veena Sameer, Market Research: The offsite was a great opportunity to connect with the team outside Zoom. Sharing the same physical space definitely enabled us to break barriers, drop our guards and know each other better. Sameer Sohani, Engineering: Our offsite was a great success in terms of fun, learning and team bonding! 100+ team members spending 2 days together was a great enriching experience for us all! Mohammed Malubhoy, Client Solutions: In-person interaction is very different from meeting virtually. It helps us learn so much about each other - our culture, food preferences, etc. which in turn helps in connecting with our counterparts at an emotional level. Looking forward to do this more often! #raydenoffsites #lifeatrayden #offsites #funatwork

🦄 WEEKLY UPDATE 🦄 🍀 I forgot what it’s like to be young and carefree and out enjoying the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day festivities! I made the decision to go to the movies (I saw Dune part 2 – it was AWESOME) on Saturday and found myself in a traffic snafu that was one for the ages! 🤪 I was so confused as to why the traffic heading to the northside from 35th street was so terrible… until I started trying to avoid the “dark red” color on the highway on my Google Maps directions and started making my way through the streets heading through the loop and then through west loop/wicker park/logan square and saw WHY all the traffic was deadlocked on 90! 🤭 So many young people out in their green attire with hats, shamrock glasses, and beaded necklaces enjoying their joyous midday festivities. While those days are long since passed for me, I had a giggle about times gone by with my friend as I avoided the stragglers when trying to cross intersections and hoped for the best when the one guy decided to cross western at Milwaukee NOT in the cross walk in Wicker Park… Yeesh! Let’s just say, some poor decision making was happening that day by many. ☘ I’ll leave you with an Irish Blessing this week, “May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.” 🧡 ☝ Per usual, here is your weekly update of the Accounting and Finance talent pool! We met with some great folks last week and I wanted you to be aware of them. They are exploring the market, and some are available immediately! 🤝 If you have any staffing needs (temp or perm), now or coming up, we can help! If it’s a temporary need, often, we can have someone in the next day or two for you. 💸 If you need high level technical skillsets for upcoming projects, but don’t want to pay $200-400 an hour for the work (think Big 4/consulting firm pricing), we have consultants available for you! ✉️➡️ [email protected]📲 872.270.2960 Call/Text

Looking for events that are happening in the Metro this week that you probably will want to consider as you are growing your network ? 10/24 The Greater Des Moines Partnership's Multicultural Roundtable 4-6 at DMACC Urban. Always a fantastic way to meet people, talk about issues and come up with practical ways to work towards solving them. Highly, highly recommend as it's a way to get uncomfortable. I always say we are all ignorant of things we don't know, but let's not willfully stay there. 10/24 BOCS DSM has their open house and ribbon cutting 4-5pm. 10/24 Ankeny Young Professionals has their Boos & Brews afterhours event at the Operating Room in Ankeny 5-8p. Meet great YPs in the Ankeny area and play some arcade games. 10/26 The Greater Des Moines Partnership's Regional Breakfast is at the Iowa Wild. Start your morning off with all the regional chambers of commerce members. You'll for sure meet some new people. 7:30-9a 10/26 West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce's West YP Monthly Development and networking event is 4-6p at West 48. This month's discussion is 40 under 40 insights and volunteerism. If you're a YP trying to change our local community this is a can't miss event with some of the metro's best young professionals. 10/27 We are back with the Last Friday's Gerri's Wings Meet up 2-5pm. I'm going to buy a platter and a couple pitchers and I think Jason Ring is doing the same. Come and meet your #linkedin connections and turn them into real friendships offline. I'm always impressed with the random people who show up who may not even know any of us in their attempt to grow their network #promotepeoplenotproducts #networking #dsmusa #events #reppdesmoines #youngprofessionals #professionaldevelopment #jacobfromlinkedin #reppicr
