In honor of July being National Grilling Month, we would like to share some tips on properly disposing of your grilling waste. To prevent trash fires from occurring, allow the coal to cool for at least 48 hours before placing the coal in a metal trash bin. Also, remember not to dispose of propane tanks in the trash or recycling. These tanks must be returned to the appropriate facility for proper disposal. Keep the summer grilling season safe with these tips! #NationalGrillingMonth

Please keep them out of recycling and rubbish bins to prevent incidents. Remember, it only takes a small spark to cause an incident. If you’re not sure what to do with gas canisters, check with your local authority first or take them to your nearest civic amenity site. #safetyfirst #recycling #sustainability #fireprevention #circulareconomy

Battery fires at recycling facilities are on the rise, posing serious risks and costs. A recent Resource Recycling Inc article cited a report from RRS and the National Waste and Recycling Association that revealed that more than 5,000 fires occur annually at recycling facilities, with an increasing amount caused by lithium-ion batteries. The article discusses how lithium-ion batteries, when damaged, can ignite intense fires and need to be combatted with specialized suppression systems. We're proud to help draw attention to this issue so we can start thinking of how to mitigate risk.
