We want to thank this fantastic trio in Burleson, Texas. "We had the neighbor of a resident who fell on her driveway today call us. She wanted to say a big "Thank You" to the Waste Connections crew for helping her and calling an ambulance. She had been lying there for over 30 minutes when they came along. She wanted to let their supervisors know what they did and that she is deeply appreciative and thankful for them." Carlos Mejias, Raleigh Morring, and Manuel Martinez, you have shown that taking the extra step to care for your community makes a huge impact, and we are grateful to have you on our team!

Working with your board and council is key to aligning strategy for the future of your community. A reminder that in our industry, an open mind is one of the best things a board, council or court member can bring to the table. Grateful to have that in a community where I work AND live. #medc #mckinney #mckinneytexas #mckinneytx #pipeline #projectpipeline #development #economicdevelopment #land #landdevelopment #strategy #strategicthinking #strategicplanning #boardretreat
We spent the day yesterday with our staff and board evaluating and strategizing about our high-level misson, KPI's, and goals, and it felt only fitting to end the day on the eighth floor of the District 121 Building as the highest point in McKinney. Thankful to have a board and staff with great vision to see the future, hearts to strengthen the community, and hands to work out what strategic growth in McKinney can look like. The skyrocketing evictions occurring nationwide are having an impact on people and their beloved pets. Overflowing animal shelters have also become a national crisis. The dip in adoptions along with the rise in dog intake from unclaimed strays and owner surrenders is a complete 180 from the surge in adoptions of dogs and cats we saw during the pandemic. According to Shelter Animals Count (SAC), stray dogs taken in by shelters have risen 6% in the January to November 2023 period compared to 2022 and are up a whopping 22% since 2021! 2nd attempt to post. Though at DEA they are not so proud to highlight their shortcomings that they have no issue hiding from taxpayers. They removed my previous posts which simply expresses DEA's willingness to hide their incompetence and disabled comments on the appropriate post. If this firm put out the truth and numbers of how many things they had to redo on this Highway 20 Safety Upgrade between Corvallis and Albany OR taxpayers would have something to say about this firm’s laughable ranking. How about it DEA, put out an itemized list of everything that had to be done two or three times because it wasn’t done right in the first place and how much taxpayers money was wasted in the process. In my driveway alone they had to do multiple things more than once. No wonder ODOT never comes in on budget with incompetence like this! Taxpayers should not have to foot the bill for this! DEA was contracted for at least the Newberg-Dundee Bypass, the worst one, up 239% from original estimate. https://lnkd.in/epv6uESx
Meet our next community champions in our Denver office! Our Denver staff volunteers for Food for Thought, an organization that seeks to provide children across the Denver metro area with food certainty over weekends during the school year. McKenna Jones, who participated along with teammates from DEA’s Denver office, said, “We recognize the importance of giving back to the communities in which we work, which is why we are proud to partner with Food for Thought Denver. Children are the future, and we are passionate about working to eliminate childhood hunger in our community.” At DEA, we're proud to highlight our community champions who embody our commitment to corporate social responsibility.

As a summer camp director, one of the mottos I'd try to instill in my staff was "See the need, meet the need" and at that time "the need" was a water cooler needing to be refilled or an extra set of hands in the kitchen. Reflecting on the work we've done at SWIM over the last year, I've realized that we're helping organizations addressing food insecurity use the "see the need, meet the need" philosophy in many ways ➡Using their data to better understand what their neighbors want and need, so they can "see" the need better. ➡Planning goals and strategies about what they learned from their data so they can meet the need. ➡Leveraging their influence to set the table for innovation and collaboration to assist others in meeting the need. For a second year, i'm growing a mullet to raise awareness around the importance of mental health for Black Dog Institute's, Mullets for Mental Health. Mental health is an issue burdened with stigma, affecting individuals regardless of background or gender. Campaigns like Mullets for Mental Health are crucial, as they challenge stereotypes and promote open dialogue about mental well-being which can often be kept quiet in the corporate world. If you can, please donate to support my mullet by clicking the link below, and help empower all Australians to look after their mental health. https://lnkd.in/g9xpjthi
At Bamboo Marketing we're not just about business – we're about supporting our team in every aspect of their lives. That's why we're proudly supporting Matthew Mumford’s participation in the Black Dog Institute's Mullets for Mental Health campaign. Mental health is a topic that often carries a heavy stigma and the reality is that mental health doesn't discriminate. It affects people from all walks of life, regardless of gender. That's why initiatives like Mullets for Mental Health are so important. By donning a mullet and raising awareness, we're not just challenging stereotypes – we're sending a powerful message that it's okay to talk about mental health, no matter who you are. As a business, we're committed to fostering a workplace culture that prioritises mental health and well-being. We encourage open conversations, provide resources, support, and actively work to break down the barriers that prevent individuals from seeking help when they need it most. To help support Matt's luscious mullet, you can make a donation by visiting the link below. https://lnkd.in/gmHdsbMs
