Transparency about environmental impact can help build trust and shape a company's green image. 🌍 During the WFCQ in Slovenia, we examined several aspects including operations, transportation logistics, communication activities, food services, and waste generation. The factor that showed the greatest impact on the event's carbon footprint was transportation, accounting for 52% of the total, mainly due to air travel. By proposing specific corrective actions, we not only achieved our goal of quantifying the event's environmental impact but also demonstrated our commitment to sustainability, setting a new standard for championships around the world. Earlier this year, CLG Europe member Ball Corporation partnered with Planet League and Arsenal F.C to host the Green Gooners Cup. 7600 people across 164 countries participated and fans scored over 55,900 Green Goals by: 🥫Using aluminum cans. ♻️Purchasing recycled items. 🗑️ Recycling on the go. The ABN AMRO EHL FINAL8 gets under way next week where the commitment to be make as sustainable and circular a tournament as possible happens at the Wagener Stadium from March 28 to April 1.   In 2023, the first step towards making the tournament achieve these targets was taken in tandem with host club Pinoké, together with The Wave, waste processor Circlarity Zero Waste and EuroHockey.    The result in terms of waste was a 10% CO2 emission reduction, equivalent to 767 kg of CO2, achieved by better waste separation and redirecting streams for new use.    This year, Stichting de Wave, Circlarity, EuroHockey, and hockey clubs Amsterdamsche Hockey & Bandy Club (AH&BC) and Pinoké aim to take another step towards a more sustainable tournament with less waste.   It's a huge task that requires everyone's involvement and collective effort.
