Last time I wrote about the landfill situation in Tennessee. In this post I would like to turn to our neighbor to the North, the Blue Grass State of Kentucky.
Regrettably, concerns about the state of landfills in Kentucky are pressing as well with 39% facing closure in the next 20 years. With 9 out of 23 public & private landfills slated for closure, it is time for a departure from business as usual.
Kentucky, like Tennessee, stands at a critical juncture in waste management. A collective effort is imperative to explore sustainable long-term solutions to our waste challenges. The time for proactive measures is now, fostering a mindset shift towards responsible waste practices that safeguard both the environment and our communities. Let's embrace innovation and collaboration to shape a more sustainable future for Kentucky's waste management.
