Huge congratulations to the London Lions, the first British basketball team to ever win a major European trophy! From research we carried out recently, basketball is the number one sport girls have considered but don't play at the moment. We also know that strong role models and inspirational sports stars can give hesitant girls the confidence they need to start playing a sport, and it doesn’t get any more inspirational and impressive than what these athletes have achieved! I just hope that their owners, 777, realise what an incredible asset they have in the team and continue to invest in them. It is both horrifying and incredibly sad that they are genuinely considering NOT paying for them to enter international competitions next season...!
