Women’s Sports in 2023 continues… As a previous athlete, I will admit that I did not pay much attention to all that goes on behind the scenes of sports, but after joining Spalk, I have opened my eyes to the whole world fueling the games we love. In a monumental stride for women’s sports, CBS, ESPN, Amazon, and Scripss inked a transformative broadcast deal that secured the rights to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) for the next four years. This represents the most significant broadcast deal ever for a domestic women’s sports league. This collaboration between major networks and platforms is a testament to the growing recognition and investment in women’s sports. This landmark deal not only elevates the profile of the NWSL but also reinforces the belief that women’s sports are a force to be reckoned with on the global stage. The deal signifies a new ear for women’s sports. What makes you memorable? Count to 7.  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.... What you project in the first 7 seconds that someone meets you is the impression they have of you. Here's what I mean: Recently I attended an off the record conversation with a couple of White House staff.  When the event ended, people did the typical thing - introduce themselves then say they'd follow-up about an issue they need help with. Me? I introduced myself to one of the staffers explaining I love women's basketball and had South Carolina Women's team winning in my bracket.  He lit up with laughter, and immediately started talking women's basketball with me. How did I know he liked women's basketball?  Because he made a brief remark about being from South Carolina and March Madness.   Fast forward to last week, that same staffer reached out for my email address to invite me to a White House event celebrating the WNBA championship team.
