August 4 marks 234 years of the U.S. Coast Guard! HII is proud to support the nation’s oldest continuous sea service by providing the U.S. Coast Guard with the venerable National Security Cutters (NSC), proudly built by Ingalls Shipbuilding, a Division of HII. Pictured is the Ingalls-built USCG Cutter Waesche (WSML 751). This brave crew completed a highly-successful 112-day patrol with the US Navy in the Indo-Pacific. Waesche was assigned to Destroyer Squadron 15 in the U.S. Seventh Fleet. While deployed, Waesche’s crew strengthened maritime governance and preserved maritime sovereignty alongside our U.S. allies. The cutter stopped in Honolulu, Hawaii, yesterday en route her homeport in Alameda, Calif. Bravo Zulu to the Waesche crew and best wishes on a safe journey home! And Happy Birthday, U.S. Coast Guard!! 🥳 #SemperParatus
