Wee Tang Yee’s Post

Did my “morning exercise” in Tengah new town with Dr Amy Khor, Advisor to Hong Kah North Grassroots Organisations, today 😄 We launched "Delivering Tengah!", Grab’s community development initiative to support the continual improvement of amenities in Singapore’s newest HDB Town.   Tengah new town is rapidly developing. Every week, there is a new road being completed, new U-turns being put in. With our proprietary mapping technology, we're updating maps in near real-time to help residents navigate amidst ongoing construction and find the right pick-up and drop-off points with ease. To date, we’ve added >10km of roads and footpaths and over 160 POIs such as HDB block lift lobbies and businesses in Tengah new town. I joined the action today by trying on the KartaCam Backpack to map a footpath in Tengah. Clocking in at around 6kg, it wasn’t the lightest load, though perhaps nothing compared to a student's backpack these days! The real challenge though was the hot weather – definitely got my heart pumping. So I really appreciate the dedication of our GrabMaps team, who have been tirelessly working behind the scenes. "Delivering Tengah!" isn't just about updating maps; it's about creating a more accessible environment and making life easier for Tengah residents. That’s why we’re also contributing our road and footpath data to OpenStreetMap, so other businesses and individuals can access the updated Tengah mapping data too.   That’s not all. As malls, supermarkets and restaurants in Tengah will only open in phases over time, we’re also offering free delivery (with some redemption caps) from over 2,000 F&B and grocery stores in Tengah until year-end. It’s our way of ensuring residents have ample food and grocery choices as the town continues to develop. "Delivering Tengah!" is a testament of the passion and commitment of our Grab teams – thank you to everyone involved! Personally, I’m proud to be part of a company that’s dedicated to building practical tech solutions to solve everyday problems for Singaporeans. We’ll keep working at it. #GrabDeliveringTengah #TechForGood Read the Channel NewsAsia story: https://lnkd.in/gvdXa-dP Also more on our campaign here: Check out more details here: https://lnkd.in/g4jyfErR
