Charlotte residents’ Mackenzie Hughes and Webb Simpson both pledged to donate to the CMPD Foundation $500 for each birdie and $2,000 for each eagle they recorded during the Wells Fargo Championship this year. They combined for two eagles and 26 birdies for a total of $17,000. In addition, the tournament added $125,000 toward the donation to assist the families of the fallen officers.

Thank you all for your support of CMPD. I was honored to be on the stage with one of the wounded officers at a private concert that week. I was overwhelmed my his strength and determination to get back to regular duties. At Folds of Honor we provide scholarships to the families of fallen or disabled military and first responders. We are here to help. As I tell officers when I meet them, "I hope you never need us, but if you or colleagues do, we are here for your families"
