Our team laced up their sneakers and hit the pavement for the Walk to End Epilepsy! 👟 Did you know that more than 3.4 million people across the country are affected by epilepsy? Our WellSpan Neurology team walked along with our community to help raise awareness for the condition.  

What a night of community and fun! Despite the inclement weather, National Night Out 2024 was a resounding success. ☀️ We partnered with local organizations to bring educational opportunities, giveaways and joy to our community members. Excellence in Ephrata!     WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital is the first hospital or facility in central Pennsylvania to be recognized as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology.   The driving principles of achieving this designation are adoption, implementation and maintenance – evaluating programs comprehensively. In a case seen around the world, WellSpan interventional cardiologists Dr. Brian Schuler, Dr. Samvit Tandan, and Dr. Stewart Benton, recently performed the world's first live left atrial appendage occlusion procedure using 4DCT technology. The implant used in the procedure reduces the risk of blood clots and strokes for people with atrial fibrillation (or AFib) while the 4DCT provides immediate feedback and assists with precision when placing the device in the heart. WellSpan York Hospital is the only hospital in Pennsylvania with this technology right in the catheterization lab. Congratulations to the team on this accomplishment!

We're on a mission to improve access to emergency services for residents in York County! WellSpan is proud to donate a more than 5-acre plot of land located along Indian Rock Dam Road to Spring Garden Township in York County, which will be used to construct a fire station as well as a public park and recreation facilities!
