As everyone in #StudentHousing (especially site-level staff) finishes their holiday weekend, we also start thinking about what will happen over the next 6 to 8 weeks before the fall semester begins. It all happens quickly. There will likely be some bumps. If you lean into it, it can be a lot of fun. It's a lot like riding a water slide. But, like a water slide, if you don't pay attention to some basic rules... someone might get hurt. In the latest episode of the Student Housing Insight podcast, Terence Jackson of Campus Life & Style goes over some simple but often-forgotten tips that site teams need to focus on to make sure the "summer slide" of student housing is successful and enjoyable. We've got a new installment of our "Behind the Biz" series on the Student Housing Insight podcast. In this episode, I sit down with Michael Davies, COO of Leap Easy to discuss the impact they have been making on the #StudentHousing industry. ***Attention Property Owners Looking to Sale in the Next 7 to 10 Months*** Listen to this episode! Student Housing properties are leasing early and quickly in many markets. While that may give you some comfort, potential buyers (especially if they are new to student housing) are questioning... "What if residents back out before next fall?" "What if a school is forced to return to remote study next fall?" "What if, what if, what if?" Have an answer for the buyers' what-ifs. Leap can provide a policy to guarantee those leases. Listen to find out how. https://lnkd.in/gxRn_5Eb

Check out this interview with Krystle M. Coleman!
There are a few folks in the #StudentHousing industry who work quietly in the background, but their work and thought leadership actually change the way all operators manage their assets. One of those folks is Krystle M. Coleman, VP of Business Operations at The Scion Group. In this month's installment of our "Profiles in Student Housing" series on the Student Housing Insight podcast, I sit down with Krystle to talk about her career journey. She tells the story of how a simple visit as a college student to a leasing trailer for a new development at Purdue University set the stage for her career and why she was focused on centralization long before the pandemic forced everyone else to think about it. She also talks about her passion for dance and her upcoming nuptials.
