The "Better Together" report focused on building inclusive teams between agencies and clients is now live. This is a big moment for the communications and marketing industry and I am excited to have worked with teams across our field to further these important dialogues. I am also grateful for the support of the PR Council and for the other agencies entrusting FleishmanHillard with this important convening and collaboration. The name is fitting because we are no doubt "Better Together." It's important to stand united on DE&I - hopefully, this leads other industries to take a similar approach. My sincerest gratitude to the DE&I leaders who gathered in-person, hopped on calls/attended virtual meetings, wrote/contributed to the report, and/or lent their perspectives so that we can become the best agencies and companies possible. My takeaway: Strategic and thoughtful communications is crucial for organizations to being thought of as a trusted partner by their employees, customers, and other key stakeholders.

It is common to struggle with alignment between sales and marketing and PR, but it doesn’t need to be that way! This will be a great session to learn from some highly experienced professionals about how to work on that alignment.

Anetra Henry is more than a muse to me, but it's great to hear what she has to say about her life's journey as outlined on Monday Talent's blog. I love this Q&A exchange in particular. Did you experience any hurdles to get to where you are in your career today? If so, what were they? Throughout my career journey, I have faced and overcome numerous hurdles that have tested my resilience. I encountered challenges rooted in racism, sexism, and disability bias, which could have easily deterred me. Nevertheless, I have embraced the power of adaptability, learning to pivot and persevere while continuously moving forward. These obstacles have taught me valuable lessons and shaped me into a stronger, more determined professional. Resilience is such an important leadership attribute. The fact that Anetra highlights adaptability, pivoting and perseverance in the face of obstacles is a great lesson in what it takes to grow as a person and a leader. Props to the Monday Talent team for this moment of inspiration.
