The #EZTF plans to establish a replicable engagement model with the following outcomes: - Electrified-IBZ (E-IBZ) Community Benefits Agreement Roadmap with workforce development/placement strategy to align burdened EJ Communities needs with economic incentives for business operators in Industrial Business Zones demonstrating high concentrations of MD/HD fleets. - 2 - 3 joint comment fillings summarizing key outcomes from this engagement to the New York State Department of Public Service Proceeding on Motion of the Commission to Address Barriers to Medium- and Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure - A Geographic Information System (GIS) based (E-IBZ) public storymap that assembles all key data to reveal priority areas for site specific action with corresponding utility hosting data, community health and education information, local zoning and economic development data, EJScreen data, top level fleet information, land owner information, and job training and placement metrics - A set of publicly accessible, multimedia educational resources including podcasts, video highlights, instagram campaigns and meeting summaries that centralizes stakeholder education assets and resources - Draft E-IBZ Community Benefits Agreement for at least one specific site along Zerega Avenue that demonstrates a minimum 40% benefit to the Castle Hill community surrounding the Zerega Avenue IBZ. The purpose of this community roundtable is to discuss these desired outcomes and determined ideal steps forward that would be best benefit key stakeholders. Congratulations to the Department of Energy in convening this week the 2023 Clean Cities Stakeholder Summit. For 30 years, Clean Cities coalitions across the country have acted as bridges between the private and public sector, which is the type of service that is needed now more than ever to realize a clean future. More recently, Clean Cities coalitions were envisioned as a critical and necessary partner to build and identify the collaboration necessary for an equitable electrification future, including for both the NEVI and CFI programs. Last week, I traveled to Redlands, California to partake in a conversation with Esri CEO Jack Dangermond and his team, alongside the extraordinary Porcari John D. and Allie Kelly, for a conversation about the value proposition (safety, equity, efficiency, cost savings), and the partnerships necessary, to furnish the build out of transmission in highway corridors as a tool in the toolkit to meet the President's clean energy ambition of 100% clean energy by 2035. The good news is we don't have to do this alone. Whether for our grid - or for the assets utilizing it - we can deliver lasting solutions when we work together.
