Thank you to Sanjana Chandran, 9, daughter of Dr. Preya Ananthakrishnan, who generously donated dozens of Squishmallows to the White Plains Hospital Family Health Center. Sanjana came up with this idea because she wanted kids who are sick to have a buddy to hug to make them feel better. Dr. Samuel Helman, ENT physician at WPHPA in Nyack, recently represented our organization at the 7th Annual Columbia University Endoscopic Otolaryngology Course, an international conference focused on sinus and endoscopic lacrimal surgery with participants from more than 110 countries. Dr. Helman, who specializes in head & neck surgery, sinus and skull base surgery, also served as a dissection course proctor.

Our Pride Month celebrations included participating in and sponsoring the Westchester Pride Festival, a panel discussion with our partners at the LOFT LGBTQ+ center, and events and luncheons with our LGBTQ+ Alliance Employee Resource Group. Congratulations to White Plains Hospital's Volunteer Services Department – the newest Above & Beyond award winners! This award recognizes the hard work and dedication the program provides for the Hospital. In 2023, 530 volunteers provided over 31,500 hours of hands-on service in over 35 areas of the Hospital! In addition, the team hosted 15 volunteer engagement events and 11 educational sessions for high school students. Thank you to the Volunteer Services team for being exceptional! #WPHProud
