Delving into an exceedingly sensitive and controversial topic that has ignited intense debate over numerous years, we find ourselves confronted with issues that demand thoughtful discourse, no matter how difficult they may be. These discussions, albeit challenging, are necessary in order to navigate the complexities surrounding them. Now, turning our attention to a poignant matter – what are your reflections on the question at hand? Specifically, do you believe that legalising assisted dying is a prudent course of action? Today was definitely one of those days where you check your calendar, make a very obvious late attempt to paratroop into a zoom clinical consultation after a meeting runs long, accidentally say something curious, and get asked to comment on it in a larger discussion where we invite more therapists to weigh in. 😎 So, PSA: calling all therapists, especially those who work with first responders and/or veterans, have you ever heard someone from this population request a therapist that "is not going to cry or fall to pieces if I start talking about my trauma?" How do you navigate these requests without sounding like a robot? Are these the only two options? 😭 or 🤖? Would love to hear your thoughts

Q: Why do I publish children's books with Global Bookshelves International? A: They are powerful agents of change for adults AND children. When an adult reads a children's book, they're not just reciting words; they're engaging in a shared experience that fosters connection and empathy. Through the stories we share with our children, we can instill values, challenge biases, and inspire a deeper understanding of the world. Children's books are not just for children—they're for all of us who seek to learn, grow, and embrace the power of storytelling to effect positive change. I am so grateful for Danielle Davis, whose story writing group I participated in in 2021 led me to meet Kelly D. Roberts and hear her story about a grandmother and a little boy with essential tremor. Years later, I am excited for the opportunity to finally debut this book during International Essential Tremor Awareness Month in March. The story has transformed in words and character, thanks to the editorial support from Leila Boukarim, whimsical illustrations from my dear friend Jveria Gauhar, and the early draft storyboard from the talented TiReNi Olutunde. The serendipity of how my connection with Holly Hartman would lead me to meet Erika Ganong in Louisville, whose post below is so heartfelt, just further highlights my why.
