This weekend, my cousin and I had the pleasure of hearing my good friend Anya Kearns speak on a panel of women in aviation. Anya happens to be the second Black woman pilot to become Captain at Delta Airlines. During the panel, two comments really stuck with me: “Bring people to their blossom and don’t crush them during their ‘through years’.” “I’m doing the work that my soul needs.” These words resonated deeply with me and got me thinking about the importance of mentorship and personal growth. I could write about this ad nauseam, but I'll leave you with this: Be the mentor you needed as you were developing. As I continue to grow as a leader and have discussions with friends, I have become more committed to being a person of excellence and bliss in every facet of life. Being a person of excellence has such a broader meaning as I grow. It’s about being whole and a cultivator of people. It’s about being steadfast, sturdy, yet explorative and open. It’s about improving not only productivity but also the well-being and the environment around me. We need to be gentle and nurturing in some areas, and a “Warrior Princess” in others (am I showing my age? 😅). In this life, we need each other to bring ourselves to the highest version of who we can be. 🌟 I’m grateful for my friends, family and network. You all bring me to my highest self! Happy Tuesday! 😊 #Mentorship #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #WomenInAviation #Excellence #WellBeing #WarriorPrincess
