𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹. Together with NJ/NY Gotham FC and with support from the Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, we at Charter Oak Advisory launched Gotham FC’s flagship social impact program, Keep Her in the Game. It's a historic moment in U.S. soccer, but we’re facing a serious challenge: by age 14, girls drop out of sports at nearly twice the rate of boys. 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗛𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 is a research-backed, first-of-its-kind soccer-based program that tackles the high rates at which girls quit sports – by offering curated resources (developed by Girls Leadership), coach and parent workshops, and mentorship with Gotham FC players. It will reach 1,000 youth (ages 12-13) this year, with a goal to positively impact 10,000 youth by the end of 2027. On Monday, we had 215 girls and 28 coaches from South Bronx United and New Jersey Youth Soccer at the Gotham FC-Chelsea FC match. An amazing way to kickoff this program! This is what Charter Oak is all about – pulling together the lessons our team members have learned building our own nonprofit and corporate impact strategies, and applying them to renowned companies, nonprofits and individuals to improve and amplify their positive impact on the world. Thanks to Ryan Dillon, Nan Vogel, and Corinne Counsell for your partnership – and cheers to Tory Larson Faries and Francesca Keller Sarmiento for all of the work you've put into this. ...oh, and lifelong memory unlocked: meeting Billie Jean King!
