The biggest misconception about changing narratives is that a person has to change their narrative-- 😵 Yes, I know that sounds contradictory. But, it's about understanding that ➡ Every moment, ➡ Every situation, Has more than one #narrative, and that a person can choose which one dictates their life. 💥 🙅♀️ It's not just about having a #PositiveMindset all the time. 🔬 And it's not just about looking at things from a different perspective. 📚 It's about taking all the perspectives, all the truths, and choosing which one dictates how a person moves forward. I share my own personal story that actually impacted my decision to become an entrepreneur to demonstrate how to choose that narrative from the person I was from a time I felt strong and cared for. In this episode of #ConfrontingYourChaos, I go through the final and concluding step of the #ClarityCatalyst series, which is the process I use with clients to figure out their narratives to #BridgeTheGap between where they are and where they want to be. https://lnkd.in/g4XvdUKD. In this episode, 'The Narratives We Cling To', I bring you part 2 of last week's episode, The Face of Comparison (here is Part 1 of this conversation: ). https://lnkd.in/gPidQWBM We left off with discussing how we compare ourselves to others because of a narrative we've told ourselves, with the uncomfortable possibility that we're doing it on purpose to keep us down. We dive into a very personal example for me, recognizing that what we think is the root cause of the comparison, may be something else entirely different. https://lnkd.in/gD7KWpjw #ConfrontingYourChaos #TheDepressedMomBoss #podcast #Comparisons #Narratives

Two Things You Can Control! Successful Survivors Podcast #11 🥳🥳🥳 OK let's be real... we're survivors of things that were completely outside of our control. Things were done to us or happened to us when we were too little or too vulnerable to prevent them. In other words, our control was taken away. But things are different now, we hope! If it isn’t, listen to this and grab a nugget for the road! Maybe it’s he ONE thing that clicks for you!! We have control over a lot of things now. You might not feel like you do, so today we're talking about the things we can (and should) be controlling in our lives. Victims have no control, but survivors do. To become successful survivors, we have to take control of the things we can and create our successful lives. You can do this! Victims of childhood trauma can find their way out of the pain, the depression, the continued victimization, the PTSD and all of the other things that accompany the pain that stays with many people for their entire lives. Post Traumatic Stress GROWTH is real! The hosts of Successful Survivors Podcast prove it. Much work has been done in the area of PTSG, and you can be part of it. Through this podcast, successful survivors of childhood trauma tell how they overcame their painful pasts and created good lives. If we can do it, YOU CAN DO IT! Successful Survivors podcast is by and for survivors of childhood trauma (abandonment, neglect, chaos, dysfunction, abuse, trafficking or any other cause of trauma). It's real, raw and funny--like us. All hosts and guests are survivors of childhood trauma. If that's you, WE ARE YOUR TRIBE, and you are safe here. We come from every background, culture, race, ethnicity, age group, etc., so we don't agree on everything. (It would be pretty boring if we did!) Survivors do better in life when we're connected. We push through troubles, we persevere, and we get through hard times--usually with a few laughs. To contact us go to https://lnkd.in/gEBFSxCU.
