Our second core value spotlight focuses on Treating Everyone with Respect. At EagleOne, this principle is not just a guiding value but the cornerstone of our organizational culture. We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment where every individual is valued, heard, and treated with dignity. Recently, an injured worker shared their experience with one of our Nurse Case Managers, saying: "You are the best NCM I have ever had, very caring, always following up, and trying to help as much as you could." Additionally, we received feedback from a Third Party Administrator Supervisor regarding another injured worker who expressed his appreciation for the utmost respect and concern shown for his health. He was particularly grateful for the follow-ups with his doctors and the quick progression of his treatment. He mentioned that he is working hard at home for rehab, not just for his own recovery, but also to ensure he doesn’t let the team down. These testimonials reflect the profound impact of our commitment to respect. Our nurses and all EagleOne employees go above and beyond to ensure that every person they interact feels valued and supported. At EagleOne, treating everyone with respect translates into better quality care and a more cohesive, inclusive community. This core value is evident in our interactions and the feedback we receive from those we serve. By upholding this value, we ensure that our work environment and the services we provide are rooted in respect and compassion. #EagleOne #CoreValues #TreatEveryoneWithRespect #Healthcare #NurseCaseManagement #QualityCare #CustomerFeedback

Just read this article that really made me stop and think. Did you know that in South Dakota, three big health systems have put together over $160,000 for an ad campaign about the nursing shortage? And here's the kicker - in these ads, Governor Kristi Noem is playing a nurse! Now, don’t get me wrong, I get the idea behind it. They want to highlight the serious need for nurses in the state. But here's my question: why are we paying someone to act like a nurse when that money could actually be going to real nurses who are out there on the front lines? I mean, think about it. Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system. They're working long hours, often in super stressful situations, and let's be honest, they're not always getting the recognition or the pay they deserve. So, when I see a chunk of money going towards someone pretending to be a nurse for an ad, it just doesn't sit right with me. It's like we're missing the whole point. We don't need people playing dress-up as nurses; we need real nurses. And more importantly, we need to value those nurses. That money could be used for so many better things – better wages, better working conditions, scholarships for nursing students... the list goes on. Let's not just talk about how much we need nurses. Let's show them we value them with actions, not just advertisements. https://lnkd.in/e2VBE5gD

Health Policy Advocacy An Aspect Of Nursing That Shouldn’t Be Slept On. - - As nurses, we dedicate ourselves to providing the best care at the bedside, but there’s a powerful avenue for growth that many of us tend to overlook which is “Health Policy Advocacy”. Health policy advocacy allows us to leverage our unique insights and expertise to influence the very systems that govern healthcare. By engaging in policy-making, we can advocate for laws and regulations that improve patient care, enhance working conditions, and promote public health. Imagine shaping policies that ensure better nurse-patient ratios, greater mental health support, or broader access to healthcare services. Our hands-on experience equips us to be credible and impactful advocates for these changes. For those of us looking to grow beyond direct patient care, diving into health policy is a way to expand our influence and create systemic improvements. Consider joining professional organizations, attending policy workshops, or connecting with local legislators to start making your voice heard. —————————————————— Found this post helpful? Helping Executives Operationalize Workplace Violence Prevention. 🔸Healthcare Workforce Safety and Sustainability - Operational Efficiency and Quality Consultant | Keynote Speaker | Author | Recovering ICU Nurse |🔸
I got bit by a dog while on a Medsurg floor in San Antonio this year. How you may ask? By my transient (homeless) patient who was allowed to have them in a stroller in her room. I didn’t report it. You know why? Because the organization didn’t care. And I know they didn’t because the shift before another patient had a knife. And there wasn’t even anyone I could call. The police showed up 2 hours after we had almost been stabbed. You know what saved me? My training. Advanced training. I saved myself, my colleague and my patient from getting stabbed. If organizations are not going to take accountability, then why should nurses take time reporting? They won’t. And they aren’t. And with poor labor laws and even worse incident reporting technology no one is surprised. Many places will not pay their nurses to complete it after their shift. I have had at least 3 nurse managers in different organizations ask me to clock out before I report an incident. So I just went home. You just stop reporting. And they don’t care. Cuz ultimately they still make money. Until staff safety is directly tied to money, they won’t change. Guess what… it is. Why do you think you have 100s of vacancies? The civil legislation dropping on September 1 is going to change the game. Had that been in place a few months ago… I would have sued. Cuz that hurt. And the dog def did not have vaccines. #safety #healthcare
