🌶Spicy Monday Time 🌶 THE DARK UNDERBELLY OF MSP CONFERENCES 🙈🙊🙉😈 I am going to aggravate 😡 some people with this one. The culture of the MSP Industry Conference has really shifted in the last few years from what it had been for a very long time, and I am not entirely a fan of some of the trends I see happening. Conferences largely exist to do three major things for MSPs 1. Illuminate 💡 new solutions and products we might not otherwise normally be able to find. 2. Educate 🎓 us on emerging trends, ideas, processes, and business practices 3. Socialize 🥂 us with our peers, both for accountability, but also to compare and contrast. The thing is, the other 30% of the industry, "Vendors" also need these things. But we've started circling the wagons 🤠 and pushing out vendor employees from attending for reasons that are complicated, annoying, and silly. All my #msp friends know that Vendors are running and protecting the same house that the MSPs are. We have the same departments, needs, and pain/fear; we're being prevented from upskilling and solving this pain. Its pretty frickin' stupid.
