It was a distinct honour to participate in the briefing conducted by the Department of Environment, State of Pahang, where we gained comprehensive insights into the intricacies of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). EIA serves as a vital tool for preemptively identifying the environmental, social, and economic ramifications of proposed projects, thus facilitating informed decision-making. This process entails a meticulous evaluation of potential environmental impacts, taking into account interconnected socio-economic, cultural, and human-health factors, encompassing both advantageous and adverse effects. During the briefing, emphasis was placed on adhering to specific regulations, particularly highlighted in Session 34A and Session 34AA, which delineate imperative protocols to be followed to ensure EIA submissions align with regulatory standards and avoid rejection. Notably, Session 34A(2C) underscores the necessity for EIA reports to adhere rigorously to established guidelines. Furthermore, the delineation of responsibilities between List 1 and List 2, allocated to the State Environment Department and the Federal Environment Department respectively, was elucidated. Moreover, our purpose in visiting Kuantan, specifically Pantai Batu Hitam, was to engage in the Kawasan Rancangan Khas, an environmental planning initiative targeting the special area plan. Before the innovative WeCleaner impact, the cleaning industry in Wollongong had other business pain points: unsystematic management and workforce issues. The lack of a systematic approach failed to improve cleaners' growth and skill level, leaving customers without proper service reports.
