This ambitious project involves reclaiming six hectares of land from the sea to create a new eco-district in the Principality. The project is expected to cost €2 billion and will include a variety of residential, commercial, and cultural facilities. The Mareterra project is a key part of Monaco's plans to expand its territory and meet the growing demand for housing. The new district is also expected to boost the Principality's economy and attract new businesses and residents. The project has faced some challenges, including the global pandemic and the need to adhere to strict environmental regulations. However, the developers have remained committed to the project and are confident that it will be completed on time and within budget. Here are some of the key milestones that have already been reached in the Mareterra project: Dredging: The seabed was dredged to a depth of 15 meters to create a solid foundation for the new land. Embankment placement: A series of caissons, large concrete blocks, were transported from Marseille, France, and installed to form the perimeter of the new district. Concrete piles: Over 1,000 concrete piles were drilled into the seabed to provide support for the new structures. Residential construction: Construction of the first phase of residential buildings has begun. Once completed, the Mareterra project will be a major addition to Monaco's landscape.
